I’ve been on this island for over a month and this is easily my favorite place in Siquijor. The accommodation is perfect for a solo traveler. The fairy lights in the huts make you feel like your living out a childhood fantasy in the forest.
The location is perfectly between Siquijor town and next door to everything in San Juan. Paliton beach is within walking distance, and I feel so safe here at Wonderland.
The vegan food is lovely and such large portions! (the cheesy toast is my favorite) The prices are a tad high but you come to Wonderland for the experience and everything else it has to offer.
You meet the best people here, there’s free yoga and sometimes meditation classes each morning, free art/dance/everything else workshops every evening, fast wifi, access to ice baths, free water, and they even have an essentials shop for any last minute necessities, and a beautiful art gallery filled with the cutest travel size paintings for purchase.
I think what I love most about this place, besides the amazing people it brings together and the staff that always remembers your name, is the access to tap into your creative side, your passions, and bring out your inner child.
🌀Wonderland offers guitars, ukuleles, a keyboard, so many board games, card games, a whole library of books collected over time, yoga mats, canvases, paint, art supplies galore, and so much more. If you’re ever feeling lost or alone in your travels, go to Wonderland and you’ll leave filled with the most love, the best memories, a sense of home, and lifelong friends from all around the world🌎
This is a truly unique place. The restaurant is a cozy space filled with art, delicious food, good music and attentive and the kindest staff. Wonderland is where you are encouraged to create art, read, do yoga, meditation, and participate in many other workshops led by passionate people. You can also sign up for communal dinner. There's no better place to make connections with other travellers.
The huts are cozy and comfortable, there's hot water in showers, drinking water for free, board games, musical instruments, there's also a shop where you can buy art and art supplies for travellers.
Location is great, many shops around, bakery around a corner and beautiful Paliton beach just 10 minutes walk away that offers wonderful sunsets.
What a wonderful place to stay at Siquijor. The location near Paliton Beach is perfect for sunsets. The warm and creative atmosphere is a real plus, with plenty of activities to meet people. The food is amazing, even for non-vegetarians, and the staff is very kind. Recommended 100%
Place is nice and relaxed vibe.
The smoothly bowl is insanely good!
The additional 80 pesos for an extra thimble of almond milk with the coffee you pay for is a little much IMO
Staff where neither helpful nor unhelpful so just medium.
Rooms are a hard one, for a single person it’s amazing. Four a couple…. You better be happy or cuddle all night in the heat… mattress was comfy but small.
The best vegan restaurant I found in the Philippines during my 1 month stay across multiple cities and islands - and the only one I miss.
I was hanging around this place for over a week, like my life depended on it, which it might actually did, since it's not easy to eat as a vegan on Siquijor. I tried almost all of their foods, many of them multiple times, and they're very tasty, with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. I also loved that their foods aren't too greasy, like so many things in the Philippines, so I never had digestion problems while eating at them. It was so comfy!
I found the staff kind, friendly, and accommodating, plus they actually speak good English. They're good people.
(My review was for the restaurant. The accommodation is of an uncomfortable kind, and I think the community sucks, because it's not an actual vegan community but a bunch of Western hippies (= no real principles) who're just there for the cheap tents + hooking up + partying. At least this was my strong impression during my stay.)
Wonderland is a special place. It is a wholesome experience. The food is delicious and everthing is vegan and freshly made by the sweet sweet kitchen staff. The restaurant and guesthouse it self is a harmonic place that inspires creativity and community. It is a great place for solo travellers aswell with a lot of daily activities, communal dinners and sunset trips every day to Paliton beach, which is just down the road.
I really liked their crunchy cabbage salad thingy with seeds. So happy there’s this vegan option in San Juan. I’m not really vegan but love veggies. It’s so hard to find fresh non-greasy veggie dishes when eating out in the Philippines.
Wonderland is very clean and relaxing. It’s a nice place to sit with friends and eat a nice healthy meal.
Really nice place to sit and dine. I’ve tried two toasts with a fruit bowl you can watch in my photos.
Those sandwiches were si tasty and soft, while the bowl was made of really fresh fruit.
Prices are higher than SIQUIJOR standard but not too much expensive.
Go there to have nice moments, food and drinks
This place would be great if it were half the price. For a stay that is essentially glamping we paid 1700php a night for a double “fan” hut but were given 2 x tiny USB desk fans that did nothing as the slightly larger USB clip on fan wasn’t working. Be prepared to get bitten by insects. The food is also much more expensive comparatively to other places on the island and I’ve had way better vegan food elsewhere! It’d be a cool experience and I’d be much more forgiving of the smaller issues if I wasn’t paying the higher end of the scale for hostels on the island.
The coziest and coolest spot in Siquijor. Very nice vibes and energy. Feels homey and relaxed.
Has details everywhere and it is well integrated in the nature.
Also, the food is sooooo good, and portions are sooooo big and generous. Truly delicious and nutritious vegan food
