Windsor Mill Tavern is an outstanding restaurant located in Windsor, Colorado. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the bar manager BradSlainte is top-class. The handmade cocktails are high-end and the beer and wine selection is extensive and reasonably priced. The food menu is full of delicious options, from lamb lollipops, cottage pie, cheese curds, and drunken mussels to bison burgers, deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, and butternut squash. The dessert menu features an espresso torte that is truly out of this world. On Wednesday nights, there is live music in the basement, and the sun room at Cacciatore's offers a beautiful view with Italian background music. Windsor Mill Tavern is the perfect spot for a date night, brunch, or just a casual night out with friends. The prices may be a bit higher than expected, but it is definitely worth it for an occasional outing.

I ordered the ribeye and fish and chips via DoorDash. The ribeye was ordered medium rare and what I got was a piece of very well done grocery store quality meat, with tough, chewy, and gristly fat - nothing like the smooth and creamy rendered fat you’d expect from a $50 ribeye. The Brussels sprouts were equally impossible to chew, and the mashed potatoes (although the menu reads roasted red potatoes) tasted like they came out of a box. The fish and chips were an even bigger joke. I thought when I saw it, it would redeem the “ribeye” but I was very wrong. When I bit into the fish, to my surprise, was a salty piece of fried salmon which I immediately spit out. Not a SINGLE thing we ordered on this over $100 bill was even edible. To make it worse, when I called the restaurant the female manager was rude, and had a horribly sarcastic attitude. I told her that I received a refund for my order but wanted to make sure they knew exactly what I had received. She absolutely could have cared less and even laughed and said, “what would you like me to do about it now that you got your money back?” What a complete disappointment in SO many ways! All you have to do is look at the photos for yourself. Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 1

I really like it. I've been here with coworkers after work on Friday for booze, laughs, and good food. It's a fun spot. I like the cocktails available. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Bavarian Pretzel
I visited for my mom's birthday and had Erica as our waitress. She checked in quickly when we arrived, and things started great. I was impressed with the lively and warm atmosphere. It took a while for us to get drinks, but I didn't think much of it at first. The food was okay, but in general, the quality and quantity did not justify the prices. My lamb wasn't particularly hot when it arrived. I asked for some more horseradish, and by the time that showed up, the lamb was cold. That was disappointing. At the end, we decided to order another round of drinks and pay. The drinks took longer than the box or the check to arrive/be returned. We finally started enjoying the second round of drinks when our waitress Erica came back with the check again. She had given us the wrong check, and she openly admitted that it wasn't the first time she had made this mistake. When I tried to talk to her about it, she ran off before I could express my thoughts, clearly uncomfortable and unwilling to face up to her mistake. It's funny because if we hadn't been waiting for the very slow second round of drinks to arrive, we would have left, so there would be no returning to the table to ask me to pay again. Ironically, she mentioned that if we had left earlier, our whole ticket would be comped, which seemed like a pretty damning thing to say in my view. So basically because we were waiting for the very slow drinks, we ended up having the end of our birthday dinner evening made awkward and weird. It would have been a lot more professional to not mention it and eat the cost. I took the difference out of her tip, and maybe the mistake won't happen a third time. I'm not coming back. There are loads of places dying for business, and when we do take the time to go out on a special occasion, it should be something better than what we get at home (good service, fast and fancy drinks, excellent food, etc.). Nothing we experienced tonight was worth paying the upcharge for. Tldr waitress' repeat mistakes tainted entire evening. When I pay that kind of money, I expect better. Not coming back. Overpriced! The food wasn't very good. I tried the lamb, and it was overcooked, and the side it came with was about half edible. The drinks were small and expensive as well. Left hungry and sad. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would not be back. The service was not bad. The lady who took our order was nice but slightly weird towards my daughter, telling her when we were paying the bill that she should want to come back soon to see her. We asked our server, Ali, for her red wine recommendation - the Hess Maverick Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles CA was delicious. For an appetizer we had the scrumptious Tavern Board and followed up with a Bison Burger and a Summer Salad with Shrimp. The food, service, and atmosphere is family-friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and impeccable. We couldn’t ask for better and will return! Drop everything and go to Windsor Mill Tavern for a delightful experience! Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Mac and cheese was awful. No flavor. Didn’t even taste like it had cheese in it. Kraft Mac and cheese would beat it, absolutely, every time. Extremely disappointing, especially for the $18 price tag. Should have sent it back, but wanted to at least enjoy conversation with my friend. Don’t go here, or, at least don’t order Mac and cheese. Always choose somewhere you KNOW the food is quality. It's not the biggest menu selection but there's something for everyone and it's fun. After work booze, laughs, and food place. 😋 Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great atmosphere and delicious food. The cheese curds are so crisp and really tasty! The strawberry lemonade is fantastic. Decent burger and fries. A yummy bread pudding was the perfect ending to a nice meal.

Have been here twice but forgot to review first time. Went here on a Sunday afternoon for a quick family lunch. We started with some cheese curds and a mule. The cheese curds come with a lemon dip which not everyone may like but still tasty. My kiddo ordered the sweet beignets which are good other than a bit much on the powdered sugar. I had fried chicken sandwich which was tasty although is thigh meat so you have to like that. The fries were better the first time. My wife had the Tavern Mac and cheese had a good combination of toppings, the chicken on it is white meat. Overall both times it has been a good experience. My sister and I came in and loved the venue and what they did to make the basement feel comfortable and warm. We were sat immediately and our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had the nachos (which were huge), the pretzel for our appetizers, both were delicious! We didn’t expect the nachos to be as big as they were and could easily start 4 people off. For our entrees we had the swordfish and chicken sandwich, the potatoes with the sandwich were great and so were the main dishes. I believe the swordfish was a special that they change every week. I highly suggest the pinot pear for dessert, we thought it was interesting and gave it a shot and it was amazing! It was a perfect way to end our meal, it was light and just what I needed. We’d definitely recommend it here!
