Wow! I had heard so many great things about Westwind Brewery, and this place did not disappoint. The building itself is clean, modern, and spacious, but not overly so - it still has a cozy feel. Aaron, the owner, was working the bar. He was very outgoing and personable. You can tell it's his blood, sweat, and tears that have made this place what it is today. The beer was great. I have enjoyed everything I have had from Westwind over the years, but being in the tasting room gave me the chance to branch out. The other beers did no disappoint! They were even running a special with St. Jude Children's Hospital where $1 was being donated for every pint sold of a special beer! I didn't get to try any food because we had dinner reservations to get to, but the patrons next to me at the bar were raving about the food, especially the Caprese sandwich. I had my eye on the Cuban sandwich. 5 stars all around! I can't wait to go back when its warmer and the garage doors are opened. Cheers!
Visiting South Bend, but one of my things is to visit local craft breweries and West wind was a little oasis. Kinda in the middle of nowhere, but has the required industrial reuse vibe to the building. Beers were different, which is exactly what I was hoping for, the Primis was hazy without being too much like a soda. The Faithfully DIPA is excellent with a hint of fruit but no syrup like some doubles..
