What a wonderful treat! Very close to 5 stars. Our first time here and decided on this place because it had the best reviews in the town. Definitely not disappointed. Small town charm with a rich history.
First thing I noticed was the American flag flying above the door. Nice touch. Then we were treated to a wonderful mix of aromas coming from the kitchen and maybe just a bit of history from the building if that's possible. Menu is light and easy to follow. Best places always have smaller menus to focus on their specialtys. And here it's the Smash Burgers with pimento cheese. I got mine loaded as did my wife. Was hoping for fries but they don't currently have a fryer. Hope that will change since every great Burger needs to be complimented with a satisfying helping of fries or rings. Met the owner, Sandy who was so helpful with our choices being new and all. Told us about some of the history of the building (used to be a bank) and of her mother and mother-in-law both named Wanda. How surprising.
When receiving our meal it was hot and well presented. Really good burger. Loved the Mason jar style glass my delicious sweet tea came in as well. The decor was very inviting being representative of many past decades with a nice assortment of various chairs and tables that complemented the overall theme. Had there been some delicious fries with the meal I think it might have been 5 stars. Also of note is the surprise we received just after having watched a train come through. Sandy gives out a "Train Treat," to all her guests when a train comes through. Hope you visit during one of those "Train Crossings" so you can get a treat along with your meal. Quite delicious.

Food was good. It's cooked after you order, so it does take some time before your food is on the table. If there is more than two people in your party then not everyone will be served simultaneously (all part of a small restaurant cooking meals per order).

When you take the time to look for places you notice neat little restaurants you've never seen before, dispite living somewhere for years.
This is a neat little restaurant that has pretty good smash burgers. The menu isnt full of a hundred different things to try, but what's there is simple, and good!

The most friendly customer service and really tasty food. Opened 8 months ago and abandoned for decades—- they’ve brought this place back to life!!! ******even if you don’t come here for the food - this little gem is like a museum of the town!!! The vintage trinkets all around the dining room are incredible!
The face open tuna melt I got (the daily special) was really good! Nice and cheesy and I asked for onions and that all really hit the spot. I overheard others at tables speaking about how wonderful their meals were too.
And if you don’t want something on the menu - they’ll make it however you want it. As Kalahn said, “It’s better than Burger King, you can actually have it YOUR way!”
If they’re not at the counter, just give them a holler, and they’ll be right there with you. The atmosphere was cute and quaint with trinkets and dishes and utensils as if you’re eating at home. Such a nice find. * I just asked Kalahn, and she said the owner wants it to be like you’re having a meal at your grandmas house. Even the dishes the food is served on are each unique from various estate sales in the area.
And oh my gosh, what a cute bathroom! The mirror has an old school television frame 📺
** came back the next day and tried PB&J - and it was on GRILLED Texas toast! Never had a grilled PB&J before! Crunchy outside and gooey inside, yum 😋

Picture this. You walk up to neatly painted black and white corner building, clearly built for a purpose it no longer holds. You’re expecting a chique environment waiting for you on the other side of the large black door. Instead when you’re eyes adjust to the lighting you realize you stepped into someone’s dining room. Not just anyone’s though, but grandma’s. Complete with all her old nicknacks she’s collected over the years, like toys from her children’s child hood, various kitchen relics from a bygone era, and other things with value known only to her.
That’s what it feels like walking into Wanda’s Corner. And it’s awesome.
The menu is largely unassuming and doesn’t stand out to you, other than that you’re sure everything is homemade and will feel like it was made just for you for coming in to visit. I asked what was popular and the immediate answer was the burgers. Spoiler: yes, they are amazing and worth a visit on their own. It was served to you at a table that probably actually belonged to your great aunt and maybe even her plates as well. Add in the laughter and conversation coming from the kitchen and you would be forgiven for forgetting you were eating out.
Prices are more than fair and the service couldn’t be friendly. But what would you expect? You’re eating with family who is just happy to see you after all this time.

The quality of both the food and the service was phenomenal....above and beyond any I have encountered in recent years. The freshest salad ever, and I would just about kill for the secret recipe for the house dressing! Nostalgia abounds...even the train that came by as we were dining added a touch. If you've not been here yet, you are MISSING OUT!!!
