Great service, we had reindeer and grilled stockfish, which both prefer the latter - had a unique blend of flavours with the bacons bits.

Cute little place in the centre of Tromso. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Food selection is limited but everything looks nice. The Fish & Chips was abit of a disappointment. It tasted okay, but a fish finger looking dish is not what I expected when I ordered it. The snitzel was great! Overall, not really value for money unfortunately. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

I am allergic to dairy and wheat/gluten. They didn’t hesitate to accommodate me and made my mussels with a coconut milk broth and did separate roasted potatoes and brought gluten free bread. We went here for our first nights dinner in Tromso and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed the Lutefisk, Reindeer Steaks, and the Lobster Soup. The dressings make the Lutefisk (mustard, honey, bacon, and brown cheese-all should be mixed together). The reindeer was soft and prepared medium rare (they usually do medium, so they will prepare to your liking). Drinks were good, and the traditional Bivrost spirit was excellent with the meal. They have an extensive desert menu, but we decided to that we were going to get ice cream. For approximately $56/€51 per person, it was really a reasonable price for a nice dinner. I cannot understand why Walter&Leonard only has 4,2 stars. - The food was delicious! I had the Halibut with potatoes and asparagus and these were perfectly cooked and delicious! - The restaurant itself has a very nice atmosphere and is really cosy. What a fantastic restaurant! We were recommended this place by a local and the food was exceptional! I had the reindeer and my wife had the cod. The flavours really sang out and I honestly left a happy man that night. Service was really great, Our server and she really looked after us and seemed really happy we were visiting Tromsø. The score is high. Excellent cuisine, impeccable service and an elegant and welcoming environment. If you have the opportunity (autumn/winter) try their Lutefish, it's excellent (obviously accompanied by their aquavit as per the northern custom). The chef is linked to the traditions of the north, he loves this dish and knows how to enhance it, but from the appetizers to the desserts the kitchen knows its stuff. 1632 nok for two. Highly recommended.

Look no further for an amazing place to eat then Walter & Leonard. We only had a short stay in Tromso and wanted to try some great Norwegian cuisine, and we were not let down. Great, cozy, welcoming environment. Super awesome and friendly staff and everything we ordered, from the reindeer all the to the fresh bread was 5/5!! Highly recommend. Very good restaurant with professional service. Open all days of the week, including Sunday. Perfectly combine tradition and modernity in the dishes offered. With heavy snow falling outside, sitting inside this cozy restaurant was magical. We had been to various high end restaurants across Tromsø and we found the Fish Soup to be far far better than any other restaurants. We enjoyed the quick service and attention to detail from the staff. Thank you for a delightful evening.
