A gem to be found in Sibaltan El Nido. You get in tune with nature along with a lucious landscape. On top of that, they are the only one with a fast internet. Food here are served with passion, flavorful to your delight.
I stayed here back in 2019 and it was without a doubt the highlight of my trip to the Philippines. If you’re ever in El Nido be sure to hit up the bro Micheal at Vue Grande! He’s an absolutle legend and he built these houses himself and rents them out to help him fund a forest that he is currently planting! Once the trees in his forest are big enough he plans to build heaps of tree house accomodation so that he can further expand his forest! Seriously how cool is that? Micheals place has heaps of hammocks, 2 dogs and 3 kittens (all named Mu) a beautiful family community and one of the best views in all of Palawan! Michael cooked us an epic feed and then just as we were about to goto bed he asked if we wanted to come meet his family and we said yes and ended up dancing all night with his extended family. I feel so blessed to have been able to experience this place, I will 100% be coming back here! Also after I went to leave I rode away for half an hour and then my motorbike tyre popped on a pot hole, someone drove past that recognised me from the night before and took me back to Michaels and he helped me to get it fixed. He is a good man! I hope one day I can visit again! Thank you Michael!

A stay at the Vue Grand Hilltop is a wonderful experience. As the name suggests you'll enjoy great views over the neighboring islands and you can actually watch the sunrise from your bed. All the bungalows are built in traditional style, all wood and with great natural ventilation. Not having air-con was never a problem. ||||But it's not only about the views, it's also about the person who built and runs the hotel. Michael welcomes you like a long lost friend and there is a good chance you'll spend the evening sitting in the garden chatting with him, his friends and other travellers. ||||The amenities are still fairly simple but completely adequate. I also enjoyed the breakfast. ||||So if you're spending the night in Sibaltan i can wholly recommend the Vue Grand Hilltop.||||Thank you, Michael.

This was our second trip to Sibaltan and there were several more places to stay than last year. We took our annual motorbike trip round the island and thought we would check this place out just in case our proposed GH for the night was full. This place has several native huts on top of a hill overlooking the small town, sea and islands. Immediately all 6 of us decided this was the ideal spot for us. As residents on Palawan we like to get away from the busy tourist areas and this was the perfect place to relax and take day trips on the motorbike. Our host, Michael could not do enough for us, making sure the beer was cold, making food to order such as kinilaw, and generally looking after us. The bungalows were basic, native, clean and adequate. Breakfast was included in the very cheap overnight stay, and by gawd it was delicious, Eggs with home made bread, fruit and coffee. There is a small menu and we each chose a pizza at night, so much that we could not eat all. Great sunsets and sunrises from the place, hammocks in the garden. For sure we will return here again. ||This is the ideal place for tourists who wish for peaceful nights. All beaches can be explored from here by motorbike.

On arrival we have received the most friendly welcome ever from Michael (the owner). Fantastic place in secluded area of Sibaltan with amazing view from the hut overlooking the sea :) We were greeted with stunning sunrise while still in bed. Place is a pure tranquility, short distance to the beach. Nowhere during our holiday in Philippines did we rest as much as during those 2 days that we stayed there. Michael is a very good host, prepared us amazing bulalo soup for dinner that we were crying from happiness when eating. And we woke up to a smell of freshly baked bread in the morning! We were feeling like staying at family. So welcome and so adorable place, this close to the nature at very good level of comfort is achieved here with simplicity. Love it!

This was the second time we stayed at this wonderful place on top of the hill, and we were treated well by Michael who was pleased to accommodate us again while on a 4 day motorbike trip round the island. We text 2 hours ahead of time informing him we would need a few cold beers on arrival, and sure enough he had a case of cold ones waiting for us. Pizzas for supper and a decent breakfast as before. However he was constructing a new bungalow with bathroom, and could accommodate 2 persons upstairs and 2 more downstairs. Apparently it will be ready soon.

We usually stay here for a day or two each year and this trip we were pleasantly surprised as Micheal had constructed a new 2 room native bungalow with a bathroom. As usual we had great views, wonderful food and pleasant company. We asked Michael to prepare a seafood meal and he outdid himself this time with a delicious spread. Perhaps next year Michael will have 3 more cottages with bathrooms.

The cost of the room was less than 20.00 dollars US. The food was tasty and filling. The room was clean and a breeze kept us cool at night. Every morning we awoke to a great view of the sunrise over the ocean. The resort is an excellent place for birding in the morning. A five minute walk took us to the beach where we could rent a kayak, take parasailing lessons, book boat tours, or just hang out. ||||Michael the owner makes great bread and pizza. His cooking is a mix of Italian and Filipino styles that is very palatable for westerners. He keeps the place clean and has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. He can guide you to hidden beaches as well as on hikes up the near-by mountain. He also knows his plants and can explain the local system of agriculture as well as much of the local history. If you like birding this may be the best place to stay in Palawan. The hotel is a hot spot for birds and Michael has a wealth of knowledge of the local bird life. (On our mountain climbing adventure we saw the Filipino Eagle!!!). ||||Before staying there you must understand what you are getting. The beds have netting but the rooms either have a hanging cloth for a door or a rather flimsy bamboo door with no lock. The beds are big enough for two people but the beds are hard. There is one bathroom and the shower consists of a bucket and a cup (The water is cold). Their is no daily maid service and you need to tell Michael when you plan to get up so he can make you breakfast. He cooks the food fresh, so expect to wait a while to be served (it is worth the wait). Having said this, the location is great and the price is fantastic and Michael is an attentive and friendly host. He treats his guests as family and although he lacks hotel experience, he makes up for it in personal attention.

This place is so, so, so lovely. Living in nature like this is such a beautiful experience. No need for fan or air con, the breeze cools you down at night. Just a few minutes walk to the little village and the beach. You can do Island hopping to very pretty island and go snorkeling. Then it's the food. Mike cooked me the most delicious vegan and gluten free food I could ever wish for and it's all natural. Most of the food comes from his garden or fields nearby.||The shower is a bucket of water and there's no electricity except for a few hours in the evening. Just as it should be when you live in nature. The hut is cute with a bed, mosquito net and a divan where you can put your stuff. ||I highly recommend this place and can go on forever praising it. Just go there!
