Being within walking distance from my home, my family frequents the store often. It’s not unusual for us to stop here on the way to the park to pick up a couple snacks, we also hit the soup display when anyone is feeling under the weather.
However the deli is what we come in for most frequently, either to pick up something on the way to a gathering or a quick meal for ourselves, it’s been very handy to have. Unfortunately today the excellent customer service and quality we’ve come to expect and appreciate fell short. My husband went in and was rushed by the lady at the counter, they were out of several items (busy Sunday, not a big deal) so the usual order he picks up had to be amended and he tried to correct his quantity but she was not paying attention and was irritated when she came back with the weighed bag and it needed to be added to. Then she gives him the bag and moves onto the next customer, leaving my husband to find another worker to help him complete his deli order.
Unfortunately that was not the worst part of our deli experience today. When he got home over half of our spicy chicken strips were inedible. So dry you couldn’t event bite into them, way past their sell time. We have had a dry piece of chicken here and there over the years but this strip was almost old enough to drive. Maybe the irritated worker decided to throw us the old pieces for having to add to the bag, maybe it was an honest mistake, but either way those strips shouldn’t have been sold. My child refused to eat the rest of her lunch after biting into her own dry piece. I’m hoping this is a fluke since Vons has become a part of our family’s routine.

Extremely rude employee at the self check out. The payment wouldn't go through- she was reluctant to help and rolled her eyes at me. Terrible service today 2:10pm

Best Fresh Fruit, and Vegetables and their Deli area, with fresh, and Hot Prepared Foods is also the best in Fontana as well. You all need to have the EBT Hot Foods option for the Prepared/Cooked foods.

I don't normally shop at this location because we have a VONS in Redlands. The wife loves one particular beverage and all nearby stores were out of stock. Used VONS online app and found it at the Fontana store. Wow! This is one of their super stores. Huge selection and deeply stocked. Spent an hour adding to our shopping. 👍👍

I would rather drive another 20 minutes to a different Vons than to come here. The manager named Kegan is rude has terrible customer service. They really need to get another manager to manage that location.
