First I'd like to say my 4 stars mainly come from the past feelings we had with Tokiya as indeed it kept us company for the old time, with lots of great memories, but it's at least 5 years ago at another location near the harbor.
For the existing location, the food quality is basically the same as my last visit here, but not up to par as what I had before.
I talked about only the main course, where 3 of us ordered the same, where the steak came with the panfried garlic slices. I believe it's a popular selection and that's why the store must have prepared more to be sure they could handle the need. The steak was too tender where I believed they were soaked too long. According to one of the companions who said well "it doesn't have the meat taste". Last time we reported this to the shop and they offered a new plate which was better in terms of the taste but this time we didn't do the same, as I think the shop would do the same, but obviously it's a repeated issue and it doesn't make sense for us to bring it up again.
The service quality also in our feelings has become inconsistent between waitresses. Some are great and some aren't. It's normal, but also not normal for this brand, or maybe I am too sentimental and have asked too much for a chain-store restaurant brand.
The refreshing small ice drink might be the only encouraging part that reminds me of the good old days!
I have been here previously more than a year ago and I was quite impressed the dishes change avd there's the classics that stay. I must say this time I was disappointed with the desert as I ordered a brulee (which means burt cream) and unfortunately it was not a brulee more like a over set pannacotta that's only a minor complaint everything else was good and good value.
