This is a commissioned stop for the van drivers and that is understandable. The restaurant is near the river which has a good view and nice breeze. We did not order any food but saw the servings and the portions were good sizes, not sure about the taste but they cost $3-4. I ate my take away from Siem Reap and ordered sodas. The lady there gave me a side eye though. What's a bit off is that they were pressuring us to exchange USD to kip. They kept saying that their rate is higher than in DonDet and that there's no ATM machines there. We exhanged $100 and they told us we should exchange more dollars because it will not be enough to spend for food and hotel in Laos. They should not decide how much we will spend, its our money and that will be our problem. They said the same thing to the other tourists. It was very annoying! but when got to DonDet, the exchange rate was exactly the same. One guy in our group bought a simcard for Laos and was not able to activate it. Scam! Im confused about the negative rewiews here. We got picket up fron the bus stop in stung treng, where we arrived super early. Then we got brought to his office and waited there while having some nice food. He organised a money change to a very good exchange rate and organised the bus to the border, aswell as the bus and boat to Don det. All in all we paid 23 euros for the whole transport. Super professional service! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Sold me a simcard for 10 bucks, supposed to be unlimited data 30 days. I had no data, they dont activated it so they scam people. Also had to wait here for over 2 hours for the bus to siem reap, supposed to be 30mins wait... really bad experience

Can just confirmed what other people said. I was taken there by the bus which was suppose to go directly to the border. From what it seems is that the man who runs the restaurant has some connection with who runs the transport business. I was said to wait 2 hours and ended up having lunch there -cause it’s lunch time and everybody is hungry-. The lady is nice til you order. Then it takes hours to get the food. The food (curry) was ok and the amount pretty small for the price. I was then picked up two hours later as promised. If you are taken there be careful, when I was there the owner was trying to cheat another couple selling them boat+bus tickets to Don Det saying that there were no boats everyday, which is absolutely not true, we just came from there and you can cross to Don Det anytime even if it’s only you and there’s no one else on the boat (for 3€). Sad and disappointed experience. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We had a really bad experience. We were taken there by the bus that we were forced to take at the border (they said we couldn’t cross it walking). The man who runs the restaurant is the same who runs the transport business, of course. They say you have like 20 minuts til the next minivan comes so you end up having lunch there -cause it’s lunch time and everybody is hungry-, the lady is nice til you order then she just cares about the money. The food was average, nothing special but quite expensive. Eventually the guy didn’t even take us to the place we agreed and suggested us to either walk or take a taxi. When we paid the bus ticket they confirmed the minivan would stop where we needed, it was like 5km away from the restaurant, nothing for a vehicle but a lot to walk with the heavy backpacks at 2pm with the heat. If you are taken there be careful, when we left the owner was trying to cheat another couple selling them boat+bus tickets to Don Det saying that there were no boats everyday, which is absolutely not true, we just came from there and you can cross to Don Det anytime even if it’s only you and there’s no one else on the boat (for 3€). Sad and disappointed in our first experience in Cambodia.

Had to wait here on my way from Kratié to Don Det. The food was edible, but the hot coffee was terrible! They want you to change money at a bad rate with them and tell you that there is no Atm in Don Det, which is true. However there is an Atm on the way in Nakasong. But the view is really nice and it's a chill place to wait for your bus.

From the border, to the minivan, to this overpriced cafe…one big scam. Don’t support this scam, walk across the road and get a cheaper, tastier meal. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
