The Tabletop Tap is a very unique, laid-back bar with a welcoming atmosphere. We absolutely loved that they had Japanese beers available and the arcade games are free to play. Huge selection of boardgames and a very diverse and large beer selection. Would recommend this for anybody who likes a low-key bar vibe that offers plenty of games and plenty of beer. Checking out the new The Tabletop Tap location. I like it! It's bigger, more open, and feels more like a bar. (And there's hard liquor behind the bar, which I don't remember being at the old location.) Gone are the multigame consoles built into the bar (understandable, for lots of reasons), but several stand-up arcade units line the walls, including a cool Warlords 4-player tabletop game, Asteroids, an old beer bar game, Frogger, a three-in-one Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga machine, Joust, MortalKombat II, and Centipede. As before, there are geeky decorations all over the walls, but they seem more organized, less random than before. There are hooks and outlets at regular intervals beneath the bar rail. The booths look comfy and are spacious enough for four people to play a standard-sized board game. And of course, there is still a massive wall of games behind the bar for people to play. There is an enticing neon sign saying "Arcade" that points down some space-carpeted stairs to a dark basement, but they were blocked by a velvet rope. Apparently there is some negotiation that needs to happen with the City of Englewood before that rope can be removed, but when that happens, that promises to be a very cool space. Like lots of responsible businesses, they now have a self-serve automatic water fountain. I like this trend, personally, but I can see where some might not. The music is good: mostly '80s; Duran Duran's "The Reflex" is playing as I write this, but it's not so loud that it's inhibiting conversation at all, though I can imagine that the place gets loud when busy. Nice place, and I'm glad to see it back better than ever. Price per person $10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
