Food is pretty good for a small town bar. Only been this once, so would go again to try other things. Service good. Don't know why, but I was pleasantly surprised at the interior when you see the outside. It's comfortable and welcoming. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Platteville isn't really a very busy place and their aren't a whole lot of dining options, I had previously never really considered the Silver Spur as I thought it was just a bar, was I wrong. I have eaten their 4 times recently and the food choices are great, not what I was expecting and the servers are polite and handle the floor well. Considering the Spur has great things in a small package. Kraut Burgers,Calzones, Pizza, Salads and more..The kraut Burgers (chapped cabbage with ground beef and your choice of several fillings in a sweet dough pocket are unique and delicious but the pizza OMG they have the best Chicken Pesto pizza with mushroom d ricotta cheese I have ever had. If they can get something like that right, you know the rest is great too. I did have a French tip sandwich once and the meat was a little dry but those aren't on the dinner menu. The Pizza, a large. would easily feed 4 people for around 20$ and their well drinks are strong and well priced. We filled up 2 people, got a buzz and have lunch for tomorrow for 40$. The atmosphere and setting is just an old local small town bar with a few tables but it's worth the visit. Repeat visits for me Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

Everything about this place is AWESOME. FOOD was good. Drinks were stiff. The standard western saloon did not dosappoint... with one exception. The flies. Inside, outside, bar or dinning area. It border on infestation. The fly swatters used by the locals said it might be standard for this place. Still. Love our meal. Awesome little local spot! The calzone was fantastic and massive. I wish certain foods would be served before/after 4:00, but it just means I’ll have to come back again !

Ordered the Krautburger. They make them to order. They are large but cabbage was not completely cooked (the ribs of the leaves) & the bread in the foldover had a bit of undercooked dough. It could have used some seasoning. For my first visit, I was disappointed. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
