I came for the promise of stories but gather that since those initial reviews and my arrival, ownership has since changed. However, it wasn’t a complete loss. Since the whiskey was still there, we decided to DIY it. And you know what, it turned out to be quite the enjoyable evening. The new owner was very accommodating, we listened to the stories shared by the locals and just genuinely felt welcome in the village.

Enjoyed a couple whiskey sours with the Mrs and a few locals, including John. Locals were lovely and very accommodating. Loved the classic pub banter. The bar is under "new" management and the times have been expanded, so don't be surprised to see it open sooner and close later. Check the sign board for daily times. The pool table and fresh lick of paint is a welcome change. Wishing the team all of the best with your plans, both for the bar and the farm.

What a lovely surprise in this small town. The new owners are young, friendly and full of energy. The good selection of whiskey, gin and some beers on tap will quench your thirst after walking the lovely streets of McGregor.

Wow! This little old pub has such a great eclectic mix of whiskies. So unexpected for a little village like McGregor. Top that with a pool table and you're sorted for a great weekend getaway with friends or family.

This is the place to go in McGregor. Friendly people, amazing food, drinks for every taste. Phenomenal. We will definitely be visiting this little gem ever so often!
