I went here for lunch, and it was completely different. Might have been the server Nye (not sure how she spells it).The French onion burger was AMAZING, the Mac and cheese was great, drinks were unique and great! Everything was great this time around. Look below for my old review. Old review: liked the short rib, but those biscuits need some work. Portion was tiny, took up half an 8" round foil to-go container. I don't even remember the appetizer, so that's not a good sign. The square honey biscuits sucked any moisture from my mouth. I don't mind spending $65+tax&tip, but I expect to be full after spending that at a soul food place. I had to make rice and beans at home to make it a full dinner. I gave my roommate 4 biscuits, and he couldn't eat them. Ended up making chicken and biscuits the next night to make them more edible. I want to try again, but if I'm gonna spend $83 on soul food for just me, I expect to be full and happy after eating. I'll have to stick with a Maki Combo from Shogun, or a $16 bowl of Ramen from Tempopo. They fill you up way more for a quarter the price. My first visit was Feb 2023 and the food was AMAZING!!! I had chicken n waffles. The meat was brined, battered and fried to perfection. We’ve been back a few times and tried the biscuits sausage and gravy. Excellent and I never liked that combo. Today, a year later, it’s not so good. Actually the last couple of times it hasn’t been so good. Hire the cooks you had a year ago. The new cooks aren’t doing the food justice. My chicken couldn’t have been brined. I’m disappointed and doubt we will be going back. The wait staff is always spectacular. Kudos for that still being great. Sunday Brunch right at opening. Very accommodating of my request to stay as far from the door as possible in the 20° weather. Waitress was pleasant and help and very attentive. The online photos are amazing but the in person experience wasn't the same. Not saying it's bad here but I was disappointed greatly with my dinner. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
