Probably the best dining experience that I have ever had, local organic food, no microwaves or fryers, good local wine and service, the commentary from the staff was first class. You need to experience this restaurant to understand how good it is, definitely something that you don't want to miss. Service and atmosphere were absolutely lovely! Made a real treat for my first evening in Malta. They included locally grown vegetables, herbs and edible flowers in the food which was a lovely touch. I recommend the rabbit dish was very nice. The other meats were ok, but not stand out. The pork with marmalade was overpowered by the marmalade which was a pity, and the rooster was tough and a bit dry, however the flavour of the sauce was very good. They didn’t have any herbal tea on the menu but kindly made me one fresh from the herbs in the kitchen. A really delightful touch that rounded off the evening beautifully. Brilliant concept, food, service and atmosphere. No menu... Just home made organic food, locally sourced. Honestly - I could've just eaten the starters until I burst. As for mains - we had the rooster, pork belly and mahi-mahi. Rooster was the slightly less favourite of the three. But you won't be disappointed. Wij zijn hier terecht gekomen na het aanraden van onze host in Malta. We gingen hiernaar toe met het idee dat we konden kiezen tussen 15 antipasta of een hoofdgerecht. Toen we aankwamen, kwam een vriendelijke medewerker uitleg geven over het verleden van het restaurant. Heel interessant! Hele vriendelijke mensen. Toen hij begon uitteleggen wat de bedoeling was, werd meteen duidelijk dat er veel gegeten zou worden. En ja hoor, de eerste gang kwam, meteen een voltreffer. Super lekker en meer dan genoeg om een hoofdgerecht te kunnen zijn. Zoals je op de foto's kan zien, is dit een super hoeveelheid voor twee personen. Het voorgerecht bestond uit brood, waar ik het begin over verteld werd dat je hier beter niet te veel van nam. Tussendoor werd wel gevraagd of je meer wou. Blij dat we dit niet gedaan hebben want de porties waren meer dan genoeg. Het brood werd vergezeld van meerdere verse dip sauzen. Super lekker! Met verse groenten en verse ravioli. Nadien kregen we de keuze voor ons hoofdgerecht, er waren vandaag zes keuzes. Wij mochten er hier drie van kiezen. We zijn gegaan voor de kip, varken met honing en rundsvlees. Vergeef het ons, maar de lokale namen ontspringen ons een beetje. Allemaal super lekker, super mals en heerlijk! De hoofdmaaltijd kwam aan tafel, eerst kregen we ons bord met het eerste vlees en bijgerechten. Verse groentjes en puree. Toen we dit bord zagen, kregen we een beetje stress. Wat als we voor elke keuze, dit soort bord kregen? Gelukkig was dit niet het geval. We kregen nog twee kleine bordjes met een portie vlees per persoon. Gelukkig maar! Toen moest het dessert nog komen. Als dit een grote portie zou zijn, hadden we een probleem. Gelukkig was dit niet het geval. Hier zie je duidelijk aan dat er rekening wordt gehouden met de grote porties. Het dessert waren ook weer allemaal lokale dingen. Super lekker! Om even samen te vatten, het eten dat je hier krijgt is FORMIDAL en HEERLIJK! Zeker een aanrader. Als ik toekomstige gasten een kleine tip mag geven, laat je niet te fel gaan met het voorgerecht, er volgt nog. En je hoor, het wordt lekkerder en lekkerder. Voor dit alles, werd een prijs gevraagd van €45 voor de hele menu. Nadien betaal je voor al wat je extra wil. Ruime wijn keuze en de bediening kan je hier meer dan voldoende uitleg over geven. Wir hatten uns für dieses Restaurant entschieden um uns einfach mal überraschen zu lassen und wir müssen sagen wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der Service war sehr freundlich, das Essen war so köstlich, das wir alles leer gegessen haben. Dazu gab es ein leckeres Glas Wein. Es gab natürlich auch eine Erklärung über das Essen war uns serviert wurde. Am Ende ist man pappsatt aber auch sehr zufrieden weil man viele verschiedene maltesische Spezialitäten probieren und genießen konnte. Das Ambiente war sehr gemütlich und schön. Just Wow, the Classic and the best Restaurant I have visited in my lifetime. We were 6 people from office, and this place was selected by my local friend and colleague. This place requires reservation as mandatory, and the walk from main road to this restaurant is splendid, with lot of old building with beautiful art. We reached the restaurant around 8 pm, the welcome to the restaurant and way to the table was great, the server made sure we were comfortable. The service was just impeccable. I am a vegetarian and updated the same to the service guy, he made sure I had the best food. The server is explains in detail about the dishes of the day, they don't have printed menu, he explains step by step, everything is prepared fresh. This restaurant was the only one in while Malta where I got to eat authentic Maltese Food. Would recommend this hotel to each and everyone around the world to visit it atleast once.
