Excellent. This is the second place Chef Monika opened, and it’s as great as the other just across the street — the food here is outstanding: the fava beans have been a delight to enjoy, full of taste and served with a rich sauce with a slight taste from the house made sausage it was served with. The stuffed squid was pure delight for the taste buds, squid fresh from the sea sitting in a lovely tomato sauce garnished with garlic, parsley and some more delights. I have been told from close friends that Monika spends the early morning hours preparing those squid — hats off, they’re amazing and super tasteful. Service was great, while I was last here some 4 years ago I can confirm everything is on the same high standard.

The food was really delicious but the sevice was an average. They come and ask what you eat, nothing special. They do not have any special souce only ketchup which is a minus point to the beef. But all in all the foods were really nice! I eat the octopus with potato, the octopus was fresh and big with the delicious marinade, the potato was juicy with pepper, olive oil and salt taste. If you are here I can recommend this food. You will not regret it even if you are too hungry , the portion of the food is enough! We had an excellent meal of tapas and pasta, the broad beans with Monique sausage was a favourite along with algarve tomatoes and the goats cheese. Great choice of wines and service was friendly and welcoming. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

beautiful selection of tapas at taberna da mó - probably best i’ve had in portugal. every dish was unique and delicious, flavorful and fresh - just disappointed they didn’t have the anchovie on toast. service was efficient and professional, and the food came out quickly. reasonable prices and nice touches to the decor too! Dined with family of eight on our last night in Lagos. Overall service was very good especially since they had to deal with a few changes to the menu. The anchovies, tuna with caramelized onions, veal with mushrooms and potatoes were fantastic starters. For dinner the polvo (octopus) was phenomenal as was the grouper with ginger and onion sauce. Lovely, classy place to have a traditional Portuguese meal. I had one of two specials. Oxtail and chickpea stew. I had it with slices of bread and a glass of red wine. Recommend a reservation as it seems always busy. The chorizo, cuddle fish, Azores tuna, and pumpkin & goat cheese were delicious. Black pork back neck wasn’t our favorite but the rest made up for it.
