It was a delicious fresh tuna, cooked rare. Good to know: the only fresh fish on the menu are the tuna and the fried mackerel - local specialty, and it’s fair that they tell you this. This doesn’t make the other fish choices any less good, but consider this depending on what you are after. I also tried grilled squid as a starter and it was amazing. On the plus side, focusing on offering 2 fresh fish makes it more likely to guarantee they are always good. Note that the fish starters and fish main dishes have almost the same amount of fish, just serving it as a main dish comes with potatoes and some salad. After a short wait, which was quickly passed by a few drinks, we came to the table. The portions were incredibly good for the money and also very large. The service was so incredibly friendly, which made the visit to the restaurant even better. The food came relatively quickly and in all it is an excellent restaurant, which I can highly recommend. Lovely restaurant we happened to find whilst in port. Really friendly staff who recommended and described the cheese and sausages we were having! Delicious wine he recommended to have with the meal as well. Very reasonable prices too. Obrigado! Amazing culinary experience! The seafood was amazing, very tasty and fresh! Definitely visit if you are in Sao Miguel Island. Seafood soup, tuna filet, Atlantic shrimps, pesto shrimp pasta, and a lot more... Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They do not do phone-reservations, if you go there half an hour before they open, you are likely to get a table but ifnyou go after 7 or smth i am afraid you will need to wait long. The food is good overall. We ordered the steak on hot stone, so the meat comes raw and you cook it yourself on the stone. They also serve the same thing cooked and be careful to not order that one if you want to do it yourself. Staff is nice and kind overall, I just think its probably way too hot indoors and on the kichen as staff sweats like they are running a marathon. But it was a quite good experience overall. A great authentic tavern atmosphere. Good food good wines. The service was very friendly if a bit busy. Hard to predict table availability. We got there at about 7 and snagged the last table for 2. Absolutely delicious food! Incredibly tasty and fresh. One of the best grilled baby squid I have ever tasted. Sea food prepared just perfect. Local potatoes are heaven.
