We stopped for lunch at subway while we were going to franz joseph. We were in search for some vegetarian food and subway at hokitika came to our rescue. Service at subway was slow which was disappointment as there was only one lady who was making sandwich and doing billing . But the subway which was made with pure love was delicious, staff was polite and well behaved. Ample free parking was available outside this store. Disappointed in this trip. Trainee staff left unsupervised to work, I asked for extra pickles to be told I could only have 6 pickles as it was policy. I have visited alot of subways Nationwide and not once have been told I can not have extra pickles. Its not like I get a cheaper sandwhich because my daughter has no salads, consider my asking her share of salads. If im paying $16 for a sandwhich i want it how I want it. Really disappointed in this establishment. My husband and I have been here a few times now and every single time we are left waiting ages to order even if there is no one else in the shop. They struggle to make more than 1 sandwich at a time. For a while there they never heated our meat separately (which is a health and safety regulation) and half the time the meat is still cold, today my chicken was practically cold and super chewy… Not to mention the fact that if my husband decides to order 2 subs, he’s all the way at the till ready to pay and they haven’t even asked what I want to order… The staff really need to work on streamlining their process because it’s just absolutely ridiculous. The staff also shouldn’t be busy talking to their partners instead of serving customers. It’s absolutely astonishing. Either learn some good customer service or don’t work in a job that involves having to deal with customers!! Also - WHERE ARE ALL THE COOKIES!? Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

Possibly the worst subway in nz.. or even the worst place to eat in nz every.. I’ll never never never set foot in place again.. Had a blt melt I’m from east coast didn’t open it untill got to the pass 1hour down the road. My turkey was off and pretty much walked out the car on its own.. rung once had signal to tell them they need to change there meat out.. was asked if wanted a tissue to wipe my tears…. Asked to talk to owner after that comment, was told even if they where here they wouldn’t want to talk to you. The lady on the till was lovey.. I feel sorry for her.. the others where = with mud crabs.. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS NO ONE CARES AND THE MEAT ETC IS OFF BUT STILL GETTING PUT IN YOU SUB. Awful customer service and hygiene doesn’t exsist. Walked in to the old lady say “oh go away”. Then leaned her stomach on my sandwhich to the point the paper folded over. The next lady laid her breast area on my toasted cheese sandwich as she grabbed salad for another sub.. Finally the third lady locked the door, claiming they were out of bread even tho a whole stand was full next to the heater, used the same gloves to touch the lock and door and continued to add all of our salads with them cloths 🤢 Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
