Was so excited to finally try Sprinkles Cupcakes after seeing so many episodes of Cupcake Wars with Candace Nelson. I’ve been needing to limit my sugar intake, so I ordered the Sugar-Free Red Velvet cupcake. Omgsh!! It was so good, couldn’t even tell it was sugar-free. It was a little dry, but the taste won me over. The bakery not accepting cash is a bit of a negative for me. But yummy cupcake. The sugar-free version of Red Velvet is all I ever get when I go because it’s such a treat, so maybe I’ll try more flavors eventually 😆 Got the same one for the fiancé, he loves them too! I have not been to Sprinkles in years. I was surprised at some changes. First off, they no longer serve ice cream. My daughter loved getting ice cream with her cupcake. Second, they no longer physically take your order at the counter. You have to now order thru a kiosk. I'm wondering on busy weekends how effective this is. It takes some time to browse flavors and read thru their seasonal selections. I am imagining that this could slow down a line of people waiting that know exactly what they want. The woman grabbing our cupcakes was very friendly. She answered our questions but on a rainy Tuesday morning, we were the only customers there. Sad to see dark chocolate banana no longer a flavor but I will settle for their current banana cupcake. Looking for gluten free and sugar free? They offer both in their red velvet cupcake.
