This was our third stop in Mt Airy to compare cheeseburgers with chili, mustard and slaw. We were getting full from the other burgers we sampled, so we split one at this location. Speedy Chef was the only restaurant that used a char-grill vs a flat top griddle, so the burger had an outdoor cooked flavor and crispy edges. We liked that. We also noticed the cheese was more melty on this burger than the other two locations we tried. The chili and the burger had a good flavor, but the slaw needed to be chopped a bit finer for my tastes. We also tried the hot fudge cake while there…and it was delicious. There are plenty of tables and chairs and since it wasn’t very busy, it wasn’t noisy inside. There is plenty of parking. Overall, a solid place for a cheeseburger and worth a try. The kind lady at the gas station gave it as a recommendation for a place to get a salad! I wasn't brave enough to try one of their 3 salad options, but the Chefburger did not disappoint (I don't do American cheese, so no cheese)! Friendly service, very quick, tasty... Everything I had hoped for once I laid eyes upon this quick-service burger (and salad!) joint! Next time I come through, I'll be confident enough to try the salad... Stopped in for lunch. We got the chef burger, cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings. Staff were friendly and it was very clean. Food came out hot and fresh. We are glad we stopped in! This was our first time visiting. Portions were plenty! Our total bill was under $19 which was reasonable. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Love speedy chef! I've been eating at this location for over 3 decades now, and the food still tastes as amazing as it did when I was little. I love the fact that I can bring my own kids there now for dipped cones and to make memories. The employees feel like family. The hotdog's are amazing!!! And I love the chef burger with cheese mayo and slaw and tomato... really delicious the fries are great but since they changed to the cup you don't get enough fries... Place has really gone downhill since new ownership. My Ground steak was oversalted, and onion rings were too greasy. My father ordered a hamburger steak and it was too tough to eat. Ordered two hamburger steaks n got a teaspoon of a1 sause is the business that bad that can't afford the A1 sauce geez next time will be sure to buy my own A1 sauce just like everything else going up n giving teaspoon of condiments. 🙄

Awful food. He made the pancakes from scratch and they crumbled when I tried to eat them. The taste of them was terrible. Full of Grease. And the prices are outrageous.
