Awesome selection of bread and other tasty pastries. You can directly have a look at the bakery where things are made and the products are therefore super fresh.
The backyard is nice to relax and have a coffee and a bite. Be advised though if you want to be served a breakfast with many options this is not the place you are looking for.

BEST ALMOND CROISSANT ON THE PLANET! If you haven’t tried these pastries, you’re seriously depriving yourself of something truly perfect. But get there early, all the local are in love with this cafe and certain items get sold out early!

I'm German and therefore a bit of a bread snob by nature. Their bread is the best I have found in South Africa to date. Their new building also has a pretty little backyard with nice mountain views to enjoy a coffee and pastry.

Delicious coffee, but either ask for a cup with a handle, or BYO cup. The handleless cups used are too hot to pick up.
Almond croissant we had was delicious.
Unfortunately, when we returned the next day, no pastries were available because of load shedding. So check load shedding programme before visiting. New pastries only available 2 hours after the end of load shedding, so on a Stage 6 day like we had yesterday, availability very limited.

Butter butter butter, real butter used in their croissants and pain au chocolats. You can feel it. 🤤🤤🤤
The coffee and outdoor atmosphere is lovely.
This is a gem that makes you want to get up in the morning and ride to Hout Bay.
Would rate South Yeaster a 6 if I could (and if they decided to open at 7 every now and then) 😍

We often buy sourdough from South Yeaster and it is by far the freshest, most delicious you'll find! You also can't go wrong with any of their pastries, everything we've tried so far has been even more delicious than it looked. And the cherry on top of it all is their in-house barista👏 couldn't recommend them more!

Absolutely the best croissants we came across in CPT - and we tasted many here.
Not to mention actual sourdough croissants, which is a rare craft around here.
The sourdough baguette and buns are equally amazing.
What a gem! Absolutely amazing!
