I have lived here all my life, and this is my first time inside. It's got the old school feel inside. You can tell it's been around a long time. I had to try the pork chop sandwich. It was great. We had a great time. The waitress was very friendly. I can't wait to go back and try it again. Took my wife to the Autumn Leaves Festival again for the first time in over twenty five years. Forget about the festival food booths she wanted one of Snappy Lunches world famous fried tenderloin sandwiches all the way and I wanted a hotdog all the way and a tenderloin sandwich. The line to get in the restaurant was almost to the end of the block. When we finally got In and got our food it was even better than I remembered it to be. Will not be waiting another twenty some years to eat here again! Neat place to stop for lunch. We've never been to Mt Airy and we we're looking forward to trying their famous pork chop sandwich. The line was long to eat inside so we placed it to go. Young girl running the register was not a bit friendly and acted like she was miserable. Ordered it all the way, super thin pork chop dipped in what looked like pancake batter, tomato, chopped lettuce and slaw on regular bun. Love the area and atmosphere but sandwich was a disappointment. Also, they don't have fries and we're out of sweet tea. Good prices. Had to wait in line 15-20 minutes but it went fast. Can't beat the prices. I had the BLT-- very good. But they were out of plain potato chips when we got there on the late side. Snappy Lunch is a staple when it comes to Mayberry. They are famous for their famous pork chop sandwich and it doesn’t disappoint. The food is great if you don’t mind waiting for it. Tried the "Famous" pork chop sandwich and was sorely disappointed. Service was mediocre at best with no offers for tea refills and the best I can say about the sandwich is that it was edible....barely. Had to stop here for nostalgia! Ordered the world famous pork chop sandwich - all the way, double cheese burger, boiled ham sandwich. Prices CANNOT be beat anywhere! That’s a step back in time to begin with! Pics of menu included. Service was VERY friendly! They even moved us in faster to keep us from standing in the rain. Drinks came out quick, but food took almost an hour. Pork chop sandwich has gotten mixed reviews online and I’d say it falls right in the middle. Not great, not bad, just average. Couldn’t really taste the chili at all. Wasn’t disappointed by it, but don’t go in expecting to be blown away by the food. Double cheese burger was better than McDs fast food, again I’d say average, but good. Boiled ham sandwich was a slice of ham on a bun. It is what it is 😂 If you’re going to visit this town, you have to eat here and I don’t think you’ll regret it.
