This store is very clean and organized. Linda was amazing. She was so nice and helpful. I called about an issue with my online pick up order. She took my info and corrected the issue right away for me. I can’t praise her enough! People like her really make you want to be a loyal customer. Will definitely shop here again!
I have a hard time finding things in the store. Because i'm so used to Market Basket, but I love how their fruit is so fresh. I love their tiramisu cakes made in their bakery. Molly, you are right. The store is always clean.
I was walking near the fresh produce with my grandmother when a man came flying through one of the doors without looking and nearly knocked over my 83 year old grandmother. I expressed my alarm, as this idiot could have seriously hurt one of us. You should really teach safety to your employees here. I saw the same man angrily talking to another employee in a demeaning manner as I finished my shopping, I am assuming he is the manager, which makes things even more distasteful. Suffice to say, I will no longer be giving my business to this Shaws location!!!
Second November Update-
Placed a pick up order, 7 or so items (3 meat products unavailable) making my need for several other items null. I ask to accept part of the order and the guy asks me to wait, telling me that even though I haven't purchased the items, they will need to be refunded. I wait a few minutes and leave while Justin works on whatever was more important than helping me with an already messed up order. Lesson learned again, ugh.
Update November-
I was offered some money back for the order and an apology, this was appreciated. I have only shopped in the store since that time. The lines are mostly short, the store is usually clean and for the most part (aside from a fee occasions, the store marks all prices). Deli meat and bakery is pretty good. A little overpriced but reasonable when shopping sales.
July 2023- I placed an order on the shaws app for delivery, with a delivery time of 6-10PM. I received notification that it was running behind via the app and it never came. The following day, the entire order disappeared on the app main page and it looked like it was no longer pending. I called shaws and asked to speak to a manager. That manager had no apology and then transferred me to a number that rang for about five minutes and then hung up on me. I had to come into the store because no one would speak to me to figure this issue out. Not even sure if I was refunded the driver tip and fee. The staff in the store offered little compensation or apology. They told me the reason this happened was because they were working. No one seemed to really care. Got home and realized some of the food was rotten and of poor quality..
All groceries are available and fresh
Great Bakery Items
Some Organic vegetables available but little costly
Fast checkout and has Self Checkout as well
I was shocked that they sell products with mold growing on them. How do you let this happen?? I have never been this disappointed by a store's quality control
Just picked up order from Shaws Peabody MA. Most of the times a pleasant experience. I am over 65, still work but this would be the third time they've overcharged me, once I caught it and today caught it again. Ask if I want to approve substitutes instead of being lazy. Don't overcharge people, especially older people .Bad business
I am subtly surprised to remember that Shaws is nearer to my home than the other guys over across the freeway. I’m always happy to find fewer people at Shaws and just as good of a selection as that other place too.
The one thing I find troubling at Shaws is the lack of professionalism I’ve noted at the register. I’ve only had three or four visits here but each time has been the same: two teen age guys intensely involved in discussion and pointedly NOT speaking to me.
The feeling of being inconsequential is palpable and I always wonder how they were trained. Certainly they must have been told at some point that the customer is Job #1? That they should be asking me how my experience was or if I had any questions? Surely they were told at some point that engaging with the customer is paramount in establishing a friendly, comfortable atmosphere that people want to return to? But no, they continue chatting away and if I say anything to the bagger nearest me because he has spoken and I didn’t hear him I get “I wasn’t talking to you.”
I always feel like responding “Well why not? I am the customer after all!”
