Listening to 102.1 I always hear the advertisement for them so my wife and I stopped the other day. Got a table by the fireplace and we both loved the food we got. Anyone, anyone coming to Marietta, Pennsylvania has to visit Shanks tavern! I'm 74 years old, and this is the most friendly place I've ever stepped into. The staff takes time to talk with you with smiling faces. The owner came over to our table, introduced himself ,we had a lovely conversation. There are no TVs in this tavern. It should be the highlight of anyone's visit to Marietta, Pennsylvania. We were just visiting here for two nights, having driven four hours to get here. After our initial introductions, these people knew they were never going to see us again, yet they took time to make us feel so welcome!

Very neat pub along the River Trail. Bike parking, lunch specials, cool atmosphere, historic building, and excellent beer on tap. Great mid way stop when doing the Northwest River Trail or in the Marietta area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Beef on Weck
