We looked on Google Maps to find an authentic Lithuanian restaurant, and this was surely that. It's definitely a destination for locals. We walked in and noticed that there was a que to order at the bar. We looked around for menus on the tables; nothing. As we approached the bar to order, we noticed a menu and grabbed it. We knew roughly what we wanted and used Google translate to confirm.
When it was our turn to order, we pointed, and it all worked , if not a bit frenetic. We ordered a beetroot soup with potatoes, a large meat zeppelin, and a large portion of meat pancakes.
As with everyone else, the orders were ready almost instantly.
The atmosphere was very busy and frenetic, but I guess that's just how it is. The food exceeded expectations and was very tasty. The portions were large, and with hindsight, we could have just had the small portions.
All in all, it was a good experience we were just not used to the speed of it all and how busy it was but we did go at 12.15.
All that fun and only 15 euros for all the food.

A local restaurant serving traditional everyday Lituanian food. There's a long queue in front of the cashier to order and pay, but it moves fast, so is the food. I ordered three dishes and they were placed immediately in front of me more quickly than I could pay. Delicious food and the portions were really big.

You get in the line, order your foods, get the foods and pay.
They have an english menu on the back side but it‘s not the same menu with the one on the front so you‘ll have to somehow make the cashier understand your order anyway.
The lady waitress was so nice and kind. She helped me take an order.

If you want authentic taste, look no more. Sodzius food has exactly the same taste as it had 20 years ago when I was eating there as a kid. You will no go wrong with any meal, but if it's your first time there - try cepelinai. In my opinion, it's the best cepelinai place in Lithuania.
