It was my 1st time there. The ambiance, the staff, service and lastly the food. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and sublime in its' presentation. I do think people need to Google elegantly casual as many missed the mark.
Was looking forward for my birthday dinner at this restaurant when we arrived on the island. We heard so many good reviews about this spot but I was not impressed. The portion size was good but their wines are over priced. Ambience is on point with lovely music and beautiful views of the ocean. However, the young lady who served us was incrediblely rude which soured my evening. The gentleman however was so much more attentive and pleasant. When the waitress arrived to take our order I mentioned to her that my husband and I are not big eaters so we'll just have 1 entre with a side of garlic herbed bread and desert. Still this was too much because we had to get a doggy bag to go which took forever. When we asked for the bill we were not told that card payments are made by the bar. We sat waiting for about 15mins then the waitress while walking past the table rudely told us to pay at the bar. I am very disappointed with the customer service. My husband and i were feeling so uncomfortable that we were out of there in less than an hour.
Hands down, the most amazing restaurant in Tobago. Amazing and attentive crew offering mouth watering creole cuisine. They only serve wines by the bottle and not by the glass which is a shame but I bought a bottle anyhow. Enjoyed my experience and recommend for you to give them a go.
This was a good experience. Wish they did a tasting menu. They turned several covers seamlessly while I was there. Meal was hearty and flavors welcoming. Real coffee service was a nice surprise.I regret that the passion fruit creme brulle was cold...must visit again though!!
My husband and I visited the restaurant for my birthday dinner and honestly we have mixed reviews.
The food was tasty and the portion size was on point. However the young lady who took our order was openly rude and disrespectful to us. I mentioned to her that we are not big eaters so we ordered one entre with a side of garlic herb bread and wine. She then proceeded to repeatedly ask us so you only ordering that no appetitiser. Honestly I started to wonder if she was understanding English. The gentleman server was very attentive and pleasent which allowed this review to get three stars.
The ambience was immaculate with lovely music and views of the beach. We had to wait quiet a while to get a container for our leftovers and don't talk about paying the bill. We were paying with a card but only after fifteen minutes she just walked by and rudely said card payments are made by the bar. Well you know she received 0 tip. I don't think the hype of the restaurant is worth it. Nothing spectacular and the bad service made our time there very uncomfortable.
I don’t believe there is an inn here, so I suggested a name change for Google. My review is about the restaurant.
This place knocked it out of the park. Holy moly the food was incredible. That’s the most important thing to me, but the people were also outstanding. It is very easy for me to find at least something to complain about when it comes to dining out, but this place was firing on all cylinders when my wife and I went for our 11 year anniversary. First, let me spend a moment appreciating their attention to detail. I barely mentioned it was our 11 year anniversary when making the reservation on the phone, but when we arrived, they saved the best table in the entire (busy) restaurant for us right in the corner overlooking the ocean, and they put some cute things to decorate for us. These little things mean a lot to me. But let’s move that aside. We put together a four course meal for ourselves. Started with the crab cake and scallop risotto. I’ve had crab cake probably 200 times in my life (almost exclusively in restaurants), and 90-95% of the time, I’m not entirely happy, even in the fancy expensive places. But their’s was impeccable. Cooked just right without any flavor taking over the experience. The scallops were real good too, but there were only two (not complaining just wanted more ;-). Then we had shrimp bisque, which was right on, and we ordered a celery and radish Cesar salad. I was super excited to try something I’ve never had and wanted to appreciate the creativity, but they unfortunately didn’t have any fresh radish to make that version of the salad. They came out from the kitchen to apologize about the misunderstanding (they brought me a regular Cesar salad that I had to send back - well because I was expecting the exciting spin on Cesar), but the explanation made perfect sense and I wasn’t going to let a perfectly fine salad from this place go to waste, so I asked them to bring it back. And boy oh boy that was probably the best Cesar salad I’ve had in my life (coming from someone that grew up in Brooklyn and frequently ate Cesar salads in many many places all over the world). This was top five for sure. And I probably wouldn’t be writing this review is it wasn’t for what happened next. I’ve been eating lobster in the Caribbean for almost 20 years, and I realized this night that I never knew what it truly meant to have lobster in Caribbean. I guess I could have researched it more, but I didn’t know they even had lobsters that big in the tropics. The shell rivaled a huge Maine lobster shell - but was much prettier, obviously, and I got the same amount of meat you would normally get out of a 2.5 - 3 lb Maine lobster. And the taste can compare to the best lobster I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve had lobster many hundreds of times, so I’m reluctant to say it was literally the best, but at the moment, I can only remember two places that would compare, and one of them is a 3 star Michelin restaurant. The lobster must have been caught that day, and the chef cooked them to perfection. One was cooked with a little cheese and cream, and the other with herb and garlic, and gosh I wouldn’t be able to tell you which one I preferred. That was a couple days ago, and I can’t stop thinking of the succulent lobster melting in my mouth with those incredible flavors all coming together in perfect harmony with perfectly textured lobster meat. Nothing overpowered. 10/10 on the lobster. Then the dessert was worth writing about too. My wife wanted passion fruit creme brûlée. I don’t normally choose passion fruit anything because the taste can so easily be overwhelming, but something inside said this place will get it right, plus my wife wanted it anyway so it was happening. And yup you guessed it: they nailed it. I couldn’t stop eating it. Then we devoured the ridiculously good bread pudding.
Thank you to the amazing people for the incredible food and experience we will never forget. Our 11 yrs together was further forged in steel that night (steel being the theme for 11yr anniversaries). Thank you very much. You rock!!
We ate there on Monday excellent menu and food , waiter was lovely and really helpful, cost was right and location just opposite the beach, they even have a resident hummingbird which popped in to the bougainvillea for a quick drink, truly magical evening.
This was such a charming little restaurant. The ambience, so romantic climbing up the stone lined stairs and arriving into the open air restaurant with the sound of the ocean amidst the background music and the stars in the sky above, while the flowers and plants gave that touch of Italy as they completed the stone statement wall. The candle stand with that old world lamp shade was so ramtic. The teak furniture and wooden upper building gave that Caribbean charm.
The service was second to none and the food totally delightful. Lobster on the island is seasonal so check before going whether they have lobster available. Also make sure and reserve your seats especially in high season as sometimes it can be full especially if it rains and dinning outdoor is not available.
The only reason this review received three stars was because I have mixed feelings for the waiters. The female waitress was aggressive and made waiter was nice. Maybe one wasn’t having the best day but we tense, simply asking a question she had an attitude and made us not want to ask any further questions. The food was tasteless and the fruit was spoilt in our dessert. The food was extremely pricey for the portion size.
Great ambiance and view. Service is excellent. Appetizers and salads were amazing. The duck entree was a little gamey. The mahi mahi however was fantastic. Highly recommend
