I’ve been coming to OC for 23 years and there has never been anywhere on the beach to eat. This is the place to go if you want the full experience! Wonderful service, DELICIOUS food, and a variety of options to choose from. The best part? I got to enjoy a great meal with my toes in the sand 🙌🏼

Fantastic brunch spot on the beach! The blue chairs on the path to the beach are for take out and the tables are for dine-in.
The banana fosters French toast and the salmon Benedict were incredible. They just opened but really have the food stuff figured out. I love that we walked in on the beach. The chairs were comfortable and the staff were great. The prices were fair and they take credit cards, which is nice in this area.
I really enjoyed the place.
Highly recommend - will eat here again. Five stars.

I can remember when this place was a hot dog shack that was only accessible via the beach. We have a house right down the road and I was PUMPED to see this place get a revival by the same team that owns Drip&Scoop, Dead End, etc.
PROS:
- ATMOSPHERE: this place has a great spot right on North beach with plenty of Adirondack chairs out front where you can sip coffee in the morning or eat lunch. The building itself is kind of a cool old beach shack that they have revitalized with some Island Vibes!
- FOOD: definitely a great menu with plenty of seafood. I would be surprised if they don't have something you want to eat (breakfast, lunch, brunch)
- COFFEE: its not fancy but they have the best black coffee I have found North of the Starbucks on Asbury Avenue. Definitely diner style and really good
CONS:
- PRICE: it is not cheap. we got french toast, a breakfast sandwich, coffees and juice for a total price of over $50 including tip. I am happy to pay that but that is because I am supporting a local restaurant in my neighborhood. Other's might hesitate.
- SERVICE; we have eaten here twice and the service was lacking both times. Once was during the lunch rush but the other was at 7am and the place was empty. Sand House could really be next level if they up their service game.
All in all, I love this place. I am so happy that they created something great in our neighborhood. I prefer to have my coffee and breakfast at home but this place definitely makes a compelling case..
We had a fantastic meal today at Sand House. This is my new favorite spot... an incredible setting and the food is awesome. We had the Lobster Benedict and the Mahi Mahi with a side of the Old Bay Waffle Fries. Yum!! Our waitress Julia was fantastic. She gave us great recommendations and was super attentive. We will definitely be back very soon!!!
My family and me were very excited to try this spot. Unfortunately it did really disappoint. I do understand that there are a lot of factors and sometimes businesses have better days than others. Our waitress was very nice but she really didn't check on us at all. We waited a lot time for our food which is okay when it's busy but the place was very slow by this point. By the time the food came out all of it was cold and we were never given utensils either and when we asked we were told they were out of utensils and eventually we got plastic ones after having to ask several different people until someone got us some. My sister ordered the avocado toast and it was missing some of the ingredients on top of it. The potatoes on everyone's dish was extremely plain, no seasoning and cold.
There were also tables from previous customers that still hadn't been cleaned, about 4 tables and birds kept attacking the tables because staff was not clearing them.
The prices were also not very reasonable because the portions are small and the food is extremely underwhelming. They also advertise Smoothies but they don't actually make any there, it's just from the brand Naked.
The atmosphere is nice but overall I was disappointed with the overall experience and the place itself isn't very clean.

We came to The Sand House Kitchen today for the first time, and absolutely LOVED it! The service was wonderful, the views were gorgeous, and the food was so fresh and delicious. We will be back for sure!
You get to basically eatoutside onthe beach! Really enjoyed my pancakes from here and the omlettes are great. Staff is friendly and helpful. You feel like you're on vacation when you eat here.
All four times I have dined at this establishment have been ATROCIOUS. The menu is comically limited by shortages or many critical ingredients, the food was greasy and/rotten, not to mention severely overpriced given the quality and portion of the food. The waiter did not accommodate any of our simple requests, did not bring us utensils, and left out critical information regarding splitting the check. The location of the restaurant is certainly lovely, but that is the only redeeming quality.

Went for breakfast this morning and was really disappointed. My child’s pancakes showed up cold, husband and other child had moldy/rotten strawberries. Very disappointing considering the price of the food. The place has a lot of potential because of the location but it felt dirty, couldn’t even see the view of beach or ocean because chairs and tables blocked the view. The waitress was very kind and apologetic for our food and they did take it off our check so I appreciate that. Really had high hopes.

Mahi tacos were killer! We also had the feta and asparagus omelet, cheeseburger, and the dirty fries. All were very good and the atmosphere is great. Right on the sand.
