Came in on Boxing Day around 7pm, got seated outdoors right away. Main gripe about this place was that the service tended to be pretty slow. It took about an hour for our mains to come after ordering, maybe 20 min for the entrees. They also forgot a drink. The food I tried was all of pretty good quality, though! Out of the 3 dishes in our group that I tried, the prawns (shrimp for us Americans) were great. Tender, juicy, and flavorsome. These appeared in the poached prawn entree, prawn pasta, and pork belly + prawns. We also tried the mussels entree that came with 2 slices of foccacia in a tomatoey broth. The broth was great but the choice of focaccia instead of something like sourdough may have been a slight mistake. The mussels were a bit overcooked but not rubbery. They didn't seem frozen. I had the pork belly and prawns main, which featured three nice chunks of pork belly. The menu doesn't specify for this dish, but I think the pork belly is thrice-cooked based off of another menu item. It was indeed encrusted nicely and looked very dry on the outside (not doused in oil). But the inside was juicy and almost gummy with the pork belly fat. The flavors were very nice with some spices complementing the pork flavor and the gelatinous fat combining with the flesh for ultimate satisfaction. They only gave me three prawns (shrimps) which disappointed me. Each one was perfectly cut and twisted, seasoned to perfection, delicate and bold at the same time. But only three! The rest of the dish was also quite tasty - the veg and potatoes, but again oh so little! Price per person $40–50 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Traditional and old fashioned food presented well. We need to keep restaurants like this alive. Staff was very proactive and pleasant. Desserts were above par. Good choice of drinks and cocktails. Location speaks for itself. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–40

Beautiful atmosphere, looking at all the yachts in the marina. Service atrocious- I sit here waiting still for a drink and my meal after an hour and there are literally 5 people in a restaurant with 100 persons capacity. Staff standing around and chatting and paying no attention. The appetizers - well cooked (one was a salad) but flavour very poor. Outdoor seating very outdated and uncomfortable. Not what you would expect for a place charging over $19.50 for a cocktail. Patio deck in poor condition nails sticking out. In a heartbeat this should be could a success restaurant. Looking across the street, great reviews and place is packed full of happy patrons. **Wait it got worse, no food after an hour of waiting (after our appetizers), finally asked and they said they mixed up our order and never put another one through…complete disappointment, no offer or restitution. Even the cocktail - strawberry margaritas were mixed up. Went back to our hotel hungry as everything was closed by the time we paid! Unbelievable! **

We made a reservation however they had no record when we arrived. Lovely location but would be nice to have a drink shortly after arriving. Ended up getting drink from the bar, ordered entree and had to request serviettes and cutlery. Service was slow and went to the bar twice to get drinks. Staff very nice and friendly, feel they lack training and direction. Great location, could do with some variation on the menu. Price per person $70–80 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

We’ve been to Salt many times and every time we had different experience. The food quality is never consistent, last night food was way too average (specially our entree of salmon trate didn’t even taste like salmon and chicken didn’t taste fresh) & don’t have a good wine wine selections. We had a group of 8 people. The service was great and most things came out at the same time. My friend said that the prawn linguine was amazing. I had the dumplings that were very nice and a good flavour unfortunately they were swimming in oil which wasn't great. We all had desserts and they were fantastic. The cocktail menu is awesome and a good selection of non alcoholic beverages were available which is amazing. I had an iced coffee and it was awesome. I found the price of everything very reasonable for the quality. Will definitely be going there again. Went again 😁, had full dinner with entrée everything was fantastic 😍 Calamari was excellent, my steak with blue cheese was perfectly cooked and so yummy. The cocktails and oysters were the only enjoyable thing from our dinner here. We waited over 40 minutes for our drinks, and watched as two staff members just walked past as they sat on the bar. They even went and cleared tables while our drinks were getting warm. Shouldn't running drinks be a priority? The raw fish was awful- it was as if they squeezed the entire lime tree on the plate, so we sent it back and it was taken off our bill. Pork Belly was nice, but nothing to shout home about. The Peri Peri Chicken Leg however... there was no flavour or seasoning, no sauce and they have a very different idea as to what a salsa is. We left early without eating our mains, feeling hungry and disappointed that a restaurant with such lovely views really didn't deliver. Such a shame and we'll never come back.
