For those of you who are coming here to see if this restaurant has shaped up, you are in for some good news. We came here last night to celebrate the new year and everything was much more presentable with better quality. The produce looked more fresh, the rice was sizzling hot and savory, and my steak and calamari were seasoned to perfection! My mouth couldn’t keep up!
Been a long time customer. Good is pretty consistent. The Nabayaki soup is always good. Be advised that the steamed dumplings take 15 min to prepare so if you’re starving and looking for a quick appetizer before your main meal, be prepared to wait. My 6 year old loves fish and swapped out the kids shrimp for Salmon. Good choice! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The food and service were great! Gave a 4 star for the atmosphere as the floor in the hibachi area was slippery, and the restroom needed air freshener. You could smell it from the hallway corridor. It's not the best scenario when you're trying to enjoy a meal. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Hibachi Vegetable

The best hibachi! My Mom and I eat here so frequently! The happy hour menu is great too. Cannot recommend enough. One of my favorite places to eat out! Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Hibachi Vegetable
My recent dining experience at Sakekawa was disappointing to say the least. The quality of the shrimp and lobster hibachi miserably failed to meet expectations, as both were grievously overcooked, leading to a compromised, rubbery indulgence I'd liken to dishes served at a cheap Chinese buffet – uninspiring and lacking in quality. To make matters worse, the establishment's pricing was steep, grossly misaligned with the substandard fare served. Moreover, the drinking water had a distressing flavor, akin to sewage, and was unfit for consumption. This discrepancy between price and quality alongside the serious concern with the water makes it difficult for me to ever recommend anyone to eat here. It is with hope that the management will heed this critique and strive for the high standards one would anticipate from a restaurant of their pricing. I have been here about 4 times in the last 4-5 months and each time I have had horrible service. Only reason I continue to come here is for the food. Every server I have had has been very forgetful, inattentive, and seems to be annoyed. My last visit was probably the worst experience so far with witnessing multiple employees talking rudely to each other in front of customers which is VERY unprofessional and does NOT create a welcoming environment that a restaurant should have. Customers come to your restaurant to relax, have a good time, and eat food. It is hard to enjoy your time with those you came with when you witness employees going at it with each other. The whole place is unprofessional in the way employees talk to each other in front of customers and also the way employees talk to customers. All of the managers need a lesson in how to give constructive criticism to fellow employees rather than with an angry tone and angry facial expressions in plain sight for customers to see and hear. Whoever the owner is needs to focus on training managers to be professional with fellow employees and customers because I was genuinely shocked for what I witnessed thinking I was on the TV show ‘What Would You Do?' This place was a treat for an anniversary dinner for me and my wife. She had never had Teppanyaki (Hibachi) so I had to show her. The restaurant was easily located, and has good parking. The decor was fair, and as expected. Hosts were friendly, and our waiter greeted us and took our drinks and appetizer order. Our chef was the highlight. Typical teppanyaki flair and gimmicks, but very well done. My wife had a blast. We ordered some sushi, and the steak and shrimp (hibachi) dinner, and the seafood combo (hibachi) dinner. The chef cooked it well, and cooked it quick. The steak portion was a bit small and thin, and more of a medium well than medium rare as ordered, but very good in the end. I regret not getting the chateaubriand. Their soup included with the meal was incredible. Fried rice and the veggies also were well seasoned and cooked. Unfortunately while the chef was performing, the waiter ran off with my soup and salad before I was done. Big disappointment. Overall, we cannot wait to return and try more food. They have an impressive selection of sushi that I look forward to exploring in the future.
