The service was excellent. I'm very glad that they reopened. The waitress "Jamie" was extra hospitable and definitely deserves a tip because she made the experience that much more better for me and my family. I do recommend to come here if you're into hibachi. I specifically got the chicken and shrimp hibachi and it was delicious I'll be back every week at least once a week for a little hibachi. I personally like Sake but my last visit wasn’t the best. My husband and I had ordered some take out (3 teriyaki chicken, 1 hibachi chicken and a spring roll). The store was very busy when we got there but got our order eventually. The lady who handed our order was very rude. Not a hi, welcome, or “your food will be out soon” at least, out of politeness. When we got home, we realized we were missing the hibachi chicken so we had to drive back to get it. We tried calling them ahead but it Will immediately send us to voicemail and tell us the voicemail was full so we couldn’t leave any message. When we got there and explain the situation, the lady said “ok” and went into the kitchen for at least 5 minutes. She then came back and didn’t say anything to us, just kept on bagging some other orders. After 10 minutes, I asked her how much longer I should wait and then she went back to the kitchen and got the rest of my order. I love the food but service can definitely be better. Very dry…supposed to be teriyaki but it taste like they cooked it in soy sauce instead. I thought maybe after opening up again it would change but it has not. You ask they tell you yes it’s cooked in teriyaki or something but it’s not. So if you go here and like your food dry then it’s for you. If you want flavor go somewhere else. My husband and I ate at this restaurant today and our order was taken by Anthony. He was so attentive that I later asked him if he was the manager? He isn't the manager, but he cared about the service we received and asked us if we needed anything. He was exceptional!! Sake is blessed to have Anthony as an employee!! 3 stars because the food is always good but the service is always terrible. Got takeout tonight and everyone else that came in was greeted with a smile and I was ignored for 10 min until a girl finally asked my name, she looked at the shelf then walked off without saying anything. They bagged multiple orders and loudly called everyone’s names except mine. Eventually the only order on the shelf looked how mine usually does, after 5 min I asked someone if the order was mine and they said no then walked in the back. After 10 more minutes a guy asked me what my name was bc I had been waiting a while, i told him and he handed me the order that i was told wasn’t mine. I stood in there for 30 min, almost 15 of which my order sat on the shelf. Everyone except long blonde hair beard guy are always super rude. Garbage service. Honestly I see the line so long all the time I thought the food would be good. I usually get Yamatos but today I decided to get Sake, terrible idea. Chicken looks like it’s boiled and not grill like it should be. Shrimp sauce tasted like water and like they don’t keep it refrigerated. Will not waste $13 again. What a waste of money. We love Sake Express and used to go to Gastonia all the time before they had their Accidental Fire then we started going to Belmont two of our favorite servers who do an excellent job our professional and kind and very attentive Aaron and please forgive me I don't remember his name at the moment?? Never had any problems until today I ordered sushi and was told it would take 10 to 15 mins. I've watched the guy that makes them play around talking, eating and taking his time I finally had to ask where my food was, 15 mins changed to almost 40 mins. DO BETTER, DO YOUR JOB!! I was very disappointed with my food.
