Food is just ok, but of the three places in Oceanside, this one has a great atmosphere and a window view of the beach. Great place to dine during sunset. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nice folks and great food! My family and I had a car breakdown after a coastal hike, and after walking the long road to Oceanside, as we had no cell service, we asked to use the phone and the staff generously let us do so. After we called AAA, we decided to settle down for a meal. The grilled cheese sandwich with the little shrimp - the Shrimp Melt - was delicious, and the crab cakes were very flavorful. This was a surprise for me, because I am not a fan of either shrimp in sandwiches or crab cakes, but whatever they used to make the sauce made it tangy and tasty. The only downside is that after the long hike and unexpected walk, the food left me quite sleepy. The view outside the cafe is remarkably beautiful, and the sunset was a nice touch on a very eventful and fun day. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Oceanside or passing through while hungry. We came here for dinner on a Sunday night and were lucky enough to quickly get a table. We ordered the scallop appetizer, which was delicious and the sauce was to die for. Then a cup of chowder, my boyfriend says it's the best on the coast. He had the prawns and I had the cioppino. Both were delicious but beware with the stew it was enough to feed both of us! Were the surfers paid for our entertainment? If so, they were succeeding. The whole restaurant was captivated. There weren’t a lot of good waves, so when someone began to paddle for one, an excited buzz filled the room. Most of the time they’d fall right off, but we still thought they were crushing it! The coffee was good too.

This is pretty much the only restaurant in town. Long wait, but we got a nice seat looking at the ocean. Great views in here. I wasn’t super impressed with our diners. I felt like it needed some vegetables and the potatoes that came with it could have been prepped better. Just plain steamed potatoes on a $2x plate of fish. The fish was good. Clam chowder was best I had on my trip. 100% get it, so good.

We were going to eat at another place, closer to where we were staying, but it was closed for a private event. So we quickly googled the next closest place. This is what came up. It was a happy surprise. It's off the beaten path, but the view of the ocean was fantastic. We didn't expect much in regards to the food, we were hungry and not picky. They did a fabulous job. Our only regrets were that we didn't try it sooner and that we were leaving so we couldn't eat there again. We had the crab cakes (a little small, but wonderful), the special Sea Bass, and the shrimp melt. All were great. We ate breakfast and an early dinner here after spending the day at the beach. I had biscuits and gravy and my son ordered an African dish that was on special. We both had burgers for dinner with Marion berry cobbler and Tollhouse pie and they both came warm with vanilla ice cream. We will be back next time we are in the area. I cannot really describe how incredible the food here is. The flavor combinations were incredible. I had the gorgonzola pear pasta with chicken and it blew my mind. The chicken felt like a treat, chicken is usually just there, but oh man, it was a delight! Service was outstanding, prompt, and helpful waitstaff. If you're in the area, eat here!
