Arrived here at 1:00 pm 31-12-2023. Went to order to be told the kitchen had closed. Ordered a smoothie only to be told hot drinks only or cold drinks from the fridge. What cabinet food was still available was hastily being removed to the kitchen. Coffees and slice of cake were served in take out containers even though we were sitting at a table. Clearly staff were more interested in cleaning up rather than serving customers. As we were finishing our coffee we got asked to leave as they were closing. They don't deserve to be in business. Appalling experience and we'll never return. Price per person $20–30 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Took my 4 year old son for breakfast he loved his banana and chocolate muffin 🧁🥤 he ate it all. For myself I ordered chicken cheese panini with hazalnut frapper with chocolate.☕️🥪 That was one of the best frapper I have had with the ice blended really smoothly I couldn't even feel any ice lumps. Lovely lady who greeted us at the counter and served us. Good place for a nice cup of coffee ❤️👏 Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves and had 'Brunch' at Robert Harris Matamata. All in all it was a very good experience . Very good bacon and eggs very good service however the coffee was a touch on the bitter side I felt . Cafe was busy which is always a good sign I have to say . Well done Robert Harris Matamata . Stopped in for lunch yesterday on the way to Tauranga. Ordered 2 coffee with our food, and received one. Asked where the other one was and was told “you only paid for one” - to which I responded that while that may be the case, I had ordered 2. The second coffe arrived with a stern “you need to pay for that” to which my wife responded “Yes, one we’ve finished eating”. We then got another visit to demand payment. I paid before I left but would never go back. Ordered 2 coffees(we are two people) and a scone and a vegee frittata. Got only one coffee .Had to gobin and buy another one. Coffees were far too hot... Scone was good Frittata was good. Music was blaring from the back. ( was now the second time we got only one coffeee, btw....must be 😔me) Next time we give it a miss... Standard cafe situation for NZ. Decent coffee and chillers with extra whipped cream. Convenient location across from the Lord of the Rings visitor centre so it’s great to people watch and soak up the sights. Staff were friendly but when we asked for a coffee to-go and one chiller for here they delivered all to have at the cafe. Minor inconvenience staff were friendly regardless must have been a miscommunication. Cabinet food were fresh looking and decent proportion.

Coffee is really good. I had an americano and it was not bitter. We also had the chicken pie and the chicken pesto and bacon sandwich. Both were delicious. The ambience is really nice with good music. The stafd were also welcoming. This cafe has both indoor and outdoor tables, the latter getting good sunlight. Moreover, the cafe is at the corner just across the Matamata information office.

Coffee were fine. However the breakfast were horrible. Scramble egg were tasteless and done too well. Didn't use fresh oil to cook as the oil odour is pretty bad. Wont return for sure.

Rolled in on our way to Rotorua (Rotovegas) for some go juice & a Mince n Cheese. Clean & well kept cafe. Facilities were sparkling & stocked. Nice to see a clean WC when you’ve been on the road for s few hrs. Good job guys!! Pleasant & friendly staff, service with a smile. Knocked out a huge brown water a Mince n Cheese & a sausage roll. Everything was delicious & filling. Parking was a breeze.
