INCREDIBLE, this is the best Salted Egg Chicken ive ever tasted in my life, they really nailed the flavour NO CAP!. IVE ascended and lifted at a lightspeed when i taste the sauce. Oh boi, yall must try this...and again, it incredible. PROBABLY visit here again. Other than that, try their ayam bakar, it was great too.

Nasi Ayam Bakar RJ
Came here for dinner as we were craving for ayam penyet and RJ is one of the places to go for penyet in town.
I like that they're saving paper by using a QR code link to order items from their menu but I am quite surprised as to this day they have not implemented other methods of payment other than cash. It's 2023 and we have Sarawak Pay, Touch & Go, Duitnow, debit & credit as well as GrabPay yet they still take cash, it would be nice if they keep up with the times cause you'd expect a non kopitiam establishment to have all these methods at the ready.
As for the service, it's lightning fast, your food would come in just a few minutes after ordering regardless of whether it's roti, penyet, and drinks. Only the waffles came a little slower but it's fast either way
In terms of food, the roti kosong is slightly bigger than most places in Kuching and it's really well made, not too oily and pretty crunchy, the nasi ayam penyet has everything you'd expect from a plate of ayam penyet with ulam, tempeh, rempah, chicken leg and sambal (The sambal can be pretty spicy for some people), absolute recommendation. We also ordered a waffle and it was surprisingly aesthetic and crunchy with a cut of butter in the middle and had this nice honey taste. Also, kenak xda banana cheese ari tok?? (Why is banana cheese unavailable today??)
As for atmosphere I'll admit that RJ has a pretty inviting atmosphere with quirky decorations from things like portrait paintings to musical instruments and various antiques, the place can be a little noisy though as they were using a high powered fan rather than their air conditioning.
All in all, a great place for a hangout with friends with a meal but please please please implement more payment methods in the future.
P.S. it's really stuffy in here, I'd give 5 stars if it weren't for the stuffy environment and the lack of multi payment methods

RJ Ayam Penyet
Had dinner here twice within this month. During my first visit, I tried the peanut butter banana waffle, which was great, except that they could be more generous with the banana. It reminded me of Dot's Waffle, but without the ice cream. The second visit, me, my friend and my niblings tried the nasi butter chicken, and nasi salted eggyolk chicken, Nutella toast, roti tisu, nasi goreng biasa, air Bandung special. We enjoyed the meals, especially love the spiciness in butter chicken and salted eggyolk chicken sauces. The Nutella toast on the other hand, well my nephew complain that it's too thin, the Nutella spread. In some way, I'm glad that's the case 😊 Highly recommended the nasi butter chicken and nasi salted eggyolk chicken.

They have many staffs loitering around the restaurant around 6 of them chit chatting with each other doing nothing and its not a good sight. FOOD WISE I REGRET ORDERING THEIR AYAM PERCIK. NEVER IN MY LIFE AYAM PERCIK GRAVY WAS THICK LIKE ALMOST DRY TEXTURE WITH LOTS OF PEANUTS IN IT. IT TASTE MORE LIKE SATAY GRAVY RATHER THAN AYAM PERCIK. 2 PERSON EATING HERE COST AROUND RM50 AND ITS NOT WORTH IT WITH THIS TYPE OF FOOD SERVED. The chicken itself was tasteless , gravy is just plain sweet with nutty taste. This is my last time dining here. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasing and esthetic but the food is a Big No a Big DISAPPOINTMENT.

Tried their mee goreng, and it tasted great. The roti was delicious, although the curry could be enhanced by mixing in some dhal curry. Very clean and tidy environment. Overall, a great experience dining here!! 👍👍

What a delicious roti boom for tea. Of all the places, in kuching. So satisfying, crispy & soft, perfectly made to my taste. Complimented by the delicious chicken curry. Clean & unique setting.
Ordered nasi ayam bakar and nasi goreng mamak. Nasi ayam bakar is nice but I think the sambal is too little and for nasi goreng mamak taste like maggi curry powder. I requested for extra sambal but they didn’t tell us there will be additional charges (rm1.50) until I asked about it. Maybe you guys should improve the service. And for atmosphere, the restaurant looks nice, except for the ventilation because it’s too hot 🥵 total is rm41 for nasi ayam bakar, nasi goreng mamak, coke and teh tarik iced
