An art gallery like upscale dining atmosphere with sophisticated service and wait staff. Multi-course delicious, flavourful & aromatic gourmet meals. A true fine dining experience. The food was very good and the service. The interior is very uncosy, with a lot of tiles and art on the walls somehow you don't know if you are in an art gallery or restaurant. This place has gone downhill. Avoid at all costs. Ruben is not even involved anymore and has become irrelevant really. The food was overpriced and subpar. We had the fish and the batter was tasteless and burnt as in the image attached. Everything was premade and reheated. We arrived at 14h30. Was only helped 15 minutes later to get drinks and at 14h55 told to place orders as the kitchen was closing at 15h00. Food came at 15h10 and was horrible. The food was tasteless and burnt. Terribly managed restaurant. I came here in 2016 and it was great, but over the years this place has gone way downhill. Will absolutely never come here again. Had a very good experience at this lovely restaurant. The interactions started off well and set the tone for what was to follow. We were welcomed graciously by Jo-hein and the team, and they really went the extra mile for our group. The service was impeccable. It's what you would expect from this caliber of restaurants. The food was absolutely delicious. Every. Single. Plate. Was so devine. It didn't just look pretty. It tasted exactly as it looked. There was a lot of food envy but not because they didn't enjoy their meal, it was because it all looked so good. It was definitely a great experience, and I look forward to returning. Positively incredible service and a wonderful menu to boot. We came for their afternoon lunch menu and were delighted by the arancini, squid, and then springbok for our mains. We ordered two separate deserts (the pavlova and chocolate pavé) and were equally pleased with both. Decor and ambiance are gorgeous as well. They’re always booked out for dinner so reservations are recommended!

An absolutely spectacular restaurant - the finest of fine dining. We were there for a 50th birthday so had a private room and a set menu. The food was amazing - prepared and presented to a very high standard, with great service and lovely drinks. This was our second visit and each time has been wonderful. Highly recommended. Beautiful dining room, cosy fireplace, friendly, kind & knowledgeable waiters, top that with sublime food and some of the Cape’s best wines. What more could one ask for on a very cold and rainy evening. Our first visit, we now know why Reubens has remained as one of the top restaurants in the country.
