Highly rated spot in Granada so I had to check it out. A little overrated from the reviews as the food was about a 7/10. Nice date spot with really romantic music that gave me the feels as only solo soul in the joint. Service was okay too, my waiter seemed like he was ready to punch out mentality 5 hours ago but was a good sport.

This restaurant is very nicely located and has a very nice interior.
The entrees were really tasty as well as the lemonades and the dessert.
I personally did not like the main meal (fish). It looked not very good and it was quite boring.
In general is that place for Nicaraguan standards a bit expensive.

In the town of Granada Nicaragua the El Zaguan is a lively restaurant located just behind the cathedral and the Parque Central. Good menu with steak, pork, chicken in various guises on offer. Reasonable prices with the menu priced in US dollars. Local beer and other beverages at reasonable prices. We had a hamburger and the pork loin both delicious, served promptly by friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended when visiting Granada Nicaragua.

The food was amazing and the waiters were very attentive. The portions are on the smaller side considering other restaurants in the area and the prices are definitely at the higher end as well. This restaurant is on the “fancier” side and if you have the extra money I would definitely recommend!

Excellent choice for an upscale dinner! Jacob, our waiter, helped us English speakers understand the menu and provided top notch service. I’m a vegetarian, but my friends kept saying their steaks were “amazing!” For 3 people, we ordered 2 steaks, 4 beers, 1 juice, 3 side dishes, 2 desserts and spent ~$70 USD, which I think is a great value. I would return to El Zaguan!

There are mixed reviews for this steak house. It seems customers either love it or feel the service or prices are not on par with expectations.
I had a very pleasant experience and felt the prices were more than reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
I was hungry on a Tuesday evening, so I went all in on the 16 oz Fileta Don Bernardo for only $32! Two drinks, two meals with an appetizer including local tax, and 10% gratuity ran about $85. Pricey by local standards, maybe. However, this would have cost more than twice that amount stateside.
The steak was an excellent quality cut of meat. My only complaint was that it was undercooked for my taste. I requested Medium, and it bordered on Medium Rare or Rare in some spots. The steak was very thick but soft and flavorful. It almost melted in your mouth. I'm guessing it isn't ordered often, and an inexperienced chef must have miscalculated cooking time. Even though it wasn't cooked to my liking, I went with it, and I still enjoyed the quality and flavor of the meat. It was truly excellent.
So, all things considered, I believe El Zaguán is a must try dining experience for visitors, especially for those with large appetites!

I traveled all the world and I have to say I’ve had the best steak here! I recommend all the beef dishes on the menu, the place is beautiful and the staff is very thoughtful, helpful and amazing. Ricardo really served us like kings, everybody loved the food. MUST VISIT!
