The best meal we’ve had in Morocco. I will be dreaming about the beef tagine for the next decade. The lady running the show is very warm and lovely, and the food is exceptionally tasty. 10/10 I would definitely return. Amazing lunch here at a truely local restaurant. The tagine was the best I’ve ever had and I think the best I ever will have. Fatima was so kind and welcoming even though there was a language barrier. If you want some amazing local food at a very reasonable price with some beautiful service, you should eat here. Hospitality and food as it should be. We stopped here on our way between Merzouga and Fes. I know every review you read says this has the best tagine around but this really does! Absolutely delicious with an apple twist, which is the local speciality. Would recommend to anyone in the area to pop in and taste hospitality at its finest! With a warm greeting and a warm goodbye, it was a great lunch. The vegetarian meal was also excellent and made with well seasoned, fresh vegetables. We were more or less "herded" here upon arrival by a spontaneous, self-appointed local guide, so we were a little wary. But it turned out to be hands-down the best tagine of our entire one-week trip, made fresh (which took a while, but worth every minute). The ingredients included quince, which was particularly delicious. As we waited for the food we chatted with the super-friendly family that runs this unassuming-looking place. We past through the town in our way to Merzouga desert, even though she didn’t have a lot of food (because we went off season) Fatima wipped out the most delicious food we had in our hole trip. Touda was an amazing host and runs a lovely restaurant! Her food has the feel of a proper home cooked meal and she was so welcoming. We found out that she is carrying on the restaurant after her husband passed and you can see just how much love and attention she gives to it. If you have the chance, definitely visit! This very sweet lady cooks delicious! A widow for two years, she's continuing the restaurant of her late husband.
