It is simple beach front restaurant with owners operating and cooking. Khun Lek and her husband and staffs welcome me as I was parking my car from a long drive from Bangkok. I was traveling solo this time. Wanted to get some fresh local catch seafoods for dinner before looking for a quick overnight before heading out early to Don Sak pier for Samui car ferry. As I have bad left hip but still can wobble my way towards to beach front table was moving slowly and khun Leo wanted to hold my hand and escort me but I didn’t want to burden her. While verbally asking what is the fresh catch and ordering some crabs, squids, shrimps as she followed. After the order was placed and they went to prepare I was just standing still relaxing and looking at the dark beach(8p) and seeing all the bright green lights of squid boats along the horizon I slowly wobble my way to the table hut. There is many very large old pine trees with thick roots that waves above the sand dirt. I over step the roots so I thought but the top of my shoe caught the surface of the root and I had lost my balance and fell front forward like a hard board over the base of the tree roots and hit my bottom lip onto the hard sand dirt.. some scratches. They ran quickly to try to help me while was quite embarrassed as my fall was totally unexpected and very comical at the same time. Khun Lek was helping me with another young lady staff the get me up. I looked like a drunk without any alcohol. Laughing hard inside and hungry after over 6 hours drive. They settled me well at the table and foods arrive. Khun Alek gave me towel and bowl of water to rinse my hands and face and other areas that might have gotten dirty or scratched from the fall. I fell so taken care of. Now the good part of the food I had order three items: steamed crabs, grill prawns, steam squid with lemon garlic and a plate of rice. All portioned perfectly for one diner me. Crab was so delicious and naturally sweet and definitely was not frozen… salty sweet of the sea. Great flavors of seafood dipping sauce as well but I did ask to not make them too spicy as my tummy has been intolerant to spicy foods lately. The beautiful whole body squids caught fresh early in the morning was perfectly steamed and flavored; very tender with crunch and very fresh; I couldn’t finished as there were 4 large pieces on the plate. Half kilo steamed Crabs - presented in large to small size all were tender and juicy meat that is lovely salty sweet of the sea flavors once again. While I was enjoying my scrumptious simple seafoods Khun Lek occasionally checked up on me so we had some nice conversation. It was not at all busy as she said it is low season but also many people (mainly Thais visitors) have not come out and spend due to all these political uncertainty for our country with the next PM to be and all the games that are being played. People are guarding their cash. She asked where am I staying if I needed a hotel. I have a few favorites that I had stayed before in this beach. But they were booked as they are very boutique and limited in room or a bit pricey for me to spend for just very quick overnight. She told me a few and prices of some nearby ones. She got me this spot right in the beach next to her restaurant that was only 1000b for one person and it was perfect. She had her husband go check in for me. I didn’t have to do anything. So so kind and I really wish they will do ok at their business as they had taken over this place a few years ago from a relative that had ran the restaurant for over 20years. Covid pandemic had destroyed many economics of working class people and small business owners. They open at 10am till 21:30 I think. Call first I say. So with all this wonderful services and delicious light fresh seafood meal for under 1000b I hope you guys can come give them business. This is not fancy place but as Thai would say Chao Lay (ชาวเล) down to earth simple eats. I have not try other dishes but I will next time I will be passing through one of my favorite local beach of Tung Wuao Lann of Chumpon province. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
