Rampila Restaurant, located within the ancient walls of Valletta, offers a unique dining experience. The establishment serves Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The ambiance is charming and romantic, with a terrace overlooking the city walls and a tunnel-like interior design that adds to the historical atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for a fine dining spot, and the location is conveniently hidden in the outer wall of Valletta. The menu features local Maltese dishes such as Lampuki fillets and rabbit stew, as well as international options like chicken liver parfait and goat cheese ravioli. The wine list is extensive and includes many local Maltese wines. Cocktails and soft drinks are also available. Rampila Restaurant is a must-visit place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Valletta. Its unique location and high standard of service make it stand out among other eateries in the city.

Great location inside the fortress entrance of Valetta. It is one of the few places that is open between 3-6pm so for me this is a plus. We got some pasta and the steak from the days menu. The pasta was very taste and we ordered the fish, pork and beef pasta so we took quite a few options to try on. I got the stake and unfortunately it was extra seasoned with salt which made me not enjoyed it. I think it is a bit pricey for a place but the atmosphere and the service is exceptional. Kudos for also being opened almost all day long. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €20–25 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They have a foreign waiter who can speak Maltese. This is excellent, but please encourage him to interact with Maltese clients in Maltese! And to not keep this to himself. It is wonderful to hire foreigners who can speak our language. The restaurant's interior is beautiful, and deserves consideration just for this. They also cater for large groups. We were quite noisy at times, but they didn't interfere and let us be, which we appreciate. My biggest criticism lies with the portions. One of us ordered the same steak, but as you can see from the photo, was different in size. This isn't a cheap restaurant. Indeed, prices found online do not match the more expensive prices inside. At least, I do not want to leave the restaurant still feeling hungry. The food itself otherwise tastes great, no complaints there. I give service 3 stars because when we complained about the size of the smaller steak, one of the waiters (not the Maltese speaking one) feigned ignorance and brushed off our concerns walking off. Service was also not given with a smile until we engaged in conversation with the waiters later in the evening. One of us was out of cigarettes, and the Maltese speaker did give him one himself, which was sweet. High highs and low lows in this area. Restaurant was in a beautiful spot and the staff were welcoming and lovely. The food was really good, calamari was delicious and cooked nicely. We had rabbit which was a good portion very tasty, and the sauce was particularly good. Seabass cooked nicely, seasoned well. The only feedback was the veg had no seasoning at all and didn't taste of anything, which was not in keeping with the rest of the food. .. An easy way to make the dishes even better! The location and atmosphere were breathtaking, resembling a cave. Unsure about Maltese cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised. My husband enjoyed the well-seasoned rabbit, and our dessert was very good. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €50+ Recommended dishes Tiramisu

I had seafood soup. It was not a flavor I wish to revisit. The shellfish didn't open during cooking and was almost impossible to eat. Someone in our party ordered lobster and clam? Pasta. They didn't like it. Meal was served with four rolls which while crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, had a bland flavor. The atmosphere was romantic and would be a good place to bring a date Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €15–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From start until finish everything was perfect about this restaurant! Its located right at the entrance of valletta city in a historical location. The service is super polite and excellent. The warm bread with olive oil, the burrata salads and especially the Kalamari were the best we ever had!!! All the main dishes were also very fresh, delicious and beautifully served. The terrasse is so pretty and i‘d recommend everyone to try the sweet and fruity moscato wine! 5/5 recommend this place, reserve a table in advance Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €30–35 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The view across the ramparts was impressive. A light lunch so decided on the parfait whilst my brother had the tagliatelle. I think this would have a different vibe at night just didn’t hit the spot. Next time I’ll try an evening meal. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We went there for my birthday, we made a mistake by booking 2 instead of 3 ppl - honest mistake and they gave us a table but paid the price of it. One of the host was really annoyed that we got the amount of ppl of wrong and gave us a seat in the corner yet the there were plenty of empty tables and could have had a better seat tbh. Service overall was mixed, we had three people different serving us and one server really stood out to us with enthusiasm and Great service. The other two seemed two rush as it was close to shift ending. The food was lovely, I enjoyed the surf and turf, crab ravioli and lemon panacotta. It's one of those places where the food is great, not overly amazing but you are also mainly paying for the settings of the restaurant. Overall would recommend but the servers and hosts do make a slight difference to your experience depending on their mod as the restaurant setting itself is lovely. I was recently here on New years Eve. It was a set menu, which was a pity as the main menu is something that would have been more appealing and more items I would have preferred. The setting is brilliant and would highly recommend it. The service was excellent, there was no rush in between courses, and it did not feel as if there was a time limit. The food itself on New years was nice but was not to my liking. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
