Traveling on I95 and we loved the menu options at Porter Jacks Grill for our lunch spot! Our server was polite and sold me on the soup and chicken salad. I had the lunch special of a cup of soup (tomato basil) and the half chicken salad sandwich! Amazing and would highly recommend both. My husband had the Turkey BLT with pasta salad. Both came with a tasty pickle too! We devoured our plates as both options were phenomenal. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of products! It was a little cold throughout the building but the Christmas decor made up for that. Loved the Christmas trees! I had a whole story written out but decided to let the pictures do the talking... I only ate here to get cake and they ruined it. I contacted the cake maker and will buy her cake slices elsewhere. Sad day. **One of the reasons I was told was due to inconsistent size slices made by the servers... well whoever cut these pieces.. 🤦‍♀️ Server was great. Food was lame. Cake was depressing and dry. Stopped here while traveling and had a great experience. We ordered a stuffed potatoes and a ham and cheese sandwich. They also had burgers, ribs, and other southern dishes on the menu. Both came out very quick and hot. Our server was very good. It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. We also had a piece of Hershey's cake, which was very good. I ordered the steamed veggie plate to go and got home to open the saddest little box of food I’ve ever seen (3 spears of asparagus?! Come on guys). Just because I ordered vegetables doesn’t mean I’m on a diet 😅. It would be hilarious if it didn’t cost $17 (online order). I guess it’s a reminder to check your food before you drive off 🤷‍♀️ My family’s food was great, I guess just don’t get the veggies. Stopped while traveling and so glad we did. Party of four. The grill was very busy but seated quickly. Waitress was excellent and food was fantastic. Best salmon and sweet potatoes I have ever had. The most amazing BBQ I've had in this general area. The service was exceptional and I will more than definitely come back. You also will DEFINITELY not leave hungry, you get plenty of food and it's all extraordinary! If you are worried about allergies they are very accommodating. My fiancé is extremely allergic to seafood and they keep seafood entirely separate from other dishes. Highly recommend if you're in the area. My husband and I shared the buffalo chicken empanadas and a club sandwich which was on a nice bread and it was hot. Fries were delicious as well. They also have and ice cream shop attached for the perfect ending to a meal. Just traveling through, but this was definitely a great find if you're looking for a good variety that isn't fast food. Moderately priced for the food we ordered. There is a surcharge for using a CC, so pay cash if you want to avoid that. Photo is half a sandwich and fries! My wife and I visited Porter Jacks for our Valentine’s Day dinner and was extremely disappointed. The atmosphere had that good ole “sweet” southern hospitality but with a dash of prejudice. After being seated in an odd section of the restaurant, we were offered drinks, in which we both opted for the strawberry lemonade. The lemonade tasted like they just mixed frozen strawberries with water and forgot the lemon….so we got water with lemon instead. We were then ready to order our food and decided on steak. To our surprise, the menu on their website is 5 years old, as per Chloe(waitress), and the steaks are now at “market price”…which is ridiculously expensive. After seeing the quality of food that others were getting, we decided to just get some Mexican food. That was the best decision we could’ve made. Had a wonderful dinner. The Jack Basket appetizer was 3x the expected size and was great - deep fries pickles, mushrooms, and onion rings with two different dipping sauces. I had grilled chicken topped with palmetto cheese and bacon and the wife had 8 oz sirloin - both tasty and cooked perfectly. Good menu selection, fair market prices and friendly service.
