Loved grabbing lunch here. Their tomato soup is fresh and light with a lot of flavor and the squash was absolutely to die for. It’s nice to eat at a place that offers a wide variety of vegetables and flavors on their menu. They also offered mock tails and they were delicious. The entire staff was kind and sociable. Service was outstanding, I love it when to gos are labeled and dated. It was so nice of them to do that! We've been here quite a few times but after this experience I don't think we'll be coming back. We ordered a salad to share as well as 3 entrees for the 3 of us. We also were offered bread which we said yes to. Our entrees came before the salad or the bread. I had my pasta before the salad because I knew it would be cold if I had salad first like I was planning, but my mom made the mistake of starting with the salad so her food was cold by the time she ate it. I will cut them some slack, they were very obviously severely understaffed. Our waitress was the one making our pasta and one of the waitresses was telling another waitress that they didn't have a host so they would all have to cover for each other. The salad was actually really good. By far the best thing we ordered. I got the key lime shrimp pasta, which I can only describe as strange. The shrimp was good but the pasta sauce was just... strange. My mom and sister both got the butternut ravioli which was actually pretty good. They also substituted the riesling poached pear (we don't do alcohol) out for sliced fresh pear which was nice of them. When we got the bill, we had been charged for the large salad instead of the small salad like we'd asked for. When we brought it up to the waitress, she said we were wrong. I pulled up the menu online to double check once she walked away and we were right, it was supposed to be $17 not $20. Luckily she corrected herself and admitted that we were right when she came back. Overall, definitely way too overpriced based on the quality of food and the service. Begging the owners to get more staff because it's clear the servers are all being overworked. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

My friends and I loved the food, service and ambiance!! We had the acorn squash pot pie (yum-O!), whitefish po boy (delish!), and grilled cheese with tomato soup (amazing!) and you have to try the pita chips appetizer! Recommend reservations for dinner. We’ll be back for sure! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stopped in for a quick drink and a small bite to eat. The cocktails are really good and they have a lot of fun choices. We tried the Sgt. Peppercorn and the Stargazer. Both were unique and tasted great. We also each got a cup of the tomato spinach Swiss soup, which was excellent. I would really love to go back there for dinner when we are back in the area. It's a small place and it was busy, so there was a bit of a wait but it wasn't a big deal... we were able to snag two seats at the bar, so we didn't need to wait. The place is clean and the atmosphere is really chill. The staff was friendly and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience here. It’s a go-to for me whenever I’m in Traverse City. The staff is awesome and hardworking. Dishes always come quite fast and I’ve never had one I didn’t like. I recommend the salmon Caesar, butternut squash ravioli, curry, spinach tomato bisque, and the Cobb salad! We stopped in for dinner one evening while visiting TC and shopping the Main Street. We were on a wait list for about 45 minutes as we walked in for dinner on a Saturday with no reservation. The place was slammed, so the overall service was a little slow but pleasant. Their cocktail list was fun and we enjoyed almost all the ones we tried (sgt. peppercorn, stargazer and figgy mule) . We didn’t love their espresso martini which is usually one of our favorites. The whitefish cakes appetizer was fantastic. Our entrees included the pork ribeye (I think the best we ever had) and the seafood stew, both of which were delicious. The restaurant had a fun atmosphere with good music and is clearly a favorite with how many people were there. Overall, it was one of our favorite meals during our trip to TC and I would come back again if we revisit! Disappointment. For the high price and the low quality food this place gets 1 star and would not recommend. See below for dishes ordered and their descriptions. Bahn Mi Dirty Fries - the best dish that came out and it's an appetizer. The sweet potato fries were good and the sauce (barely drizzled) was good. The pork was overcooked and dry. Brussels Sprouts - overly sweet. An okay appetizer, could use a spicy element to balance out the sweetness. Cauliflower was mushy and not crispy which was a weird texture paired with the crunchy Brussels Sprouts. Lamb Ragu - the worst dish. Watered down sauce that was still barely on the noodles. Lamb micro-crumbles. Wouldn't have known it was lamb tbh. Tasted awful. Couldn't eat it. Steak Dinner - Steak was unevenly cooked, lightly seasoned. It was okay and for a $45 steak okay is simply not okay. Coconut Cashew Curry - all coconut no curry. Where's the spice? It was more like a coconut cream soup with a little veggies and 3 cashews on top for a visual appeal. Also you only get 3 slices of naan. Why are they skimping people out of the 4th slice of naan? Don't go here. Waste of money. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

The food here is amazing. Nothing but flavor. The pork ribeye was so juicy, the lamb ragu was so fresh and light for a pasta dish, and the brussel sprout appetizer was to die for. Strongly recommend! I liked the food a lot! The place itself was nice but they didn’t have a ton of options. They do have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options though which is great! Drinks were alright. Overall good! I got a salad and burger. Prices were fair for the area too. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
Honestly the best appetizer we've ever had. If you don't like brussel sprouts I guarantee you will enjoy these. Omg this blew our minds. I'd come back to Traverse City just for this. Also we both had salads and they were amazing too. We were impressed in every way at Poppycocks Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Brussels Sprouts
