Literally stopped here for a super quick bite traveling between the airport and Colorado Springs. Not the cleanest restaurant in the world, but not the worst. I have to admit, we’ve been a bit taken back by so many negative reviews. We have lived in Castle Rock for nearly 2 years and have always loved Popeyes. Nevertheless, we have somewhat stayed clear of this location due to the reviews we had read. — However, I was really craving some spicy chicken, my wife felt the same, and the kids really wanted to try their chicken strips. So, we went ahead and ordered everything online for pickup. The online ordering process was made extremely easy/user-friendly. There is a point system, rewards, discounts, specials, etc. When we actually arrived at the drive-through, there were about five cars in front of us, and the line went extremely fast. We maybe waited for all of 5-7 minutes. When we got to the window, our pre-placed order was ready to go, hot, and included everything exactly as we ordered it. When we brought it home and opened it, the food was still extremely crispy, hot, appetizing, and exactly as we could have hoped; particularly the cajun fries which is rare from “any” fast food restaurant we bring home. The service was terrific with our brief encounter, I highly recommend pickup based on our experience. Although, yes, the same could be said about mine; nevertheless, this just goes to show you can’t always, trust every review you read online. This location had terrific food, service, atmosphere, taste, and price. For reference, we ordered the following: 1.) Classic Chicken Sandwich 2.) I got the #1 combo. Pretty great sandwich and mashed potatoes. I was bummed that it didn't come with a biscuit even though the menu says that all the combos come with one. There's some very small text that says the #1 combo is excluded... Pretty lame. Employees were nice. Food came out fast. I was the only person in the restaurant. What we ordered was not what we received. However, that was not the biggest problem. The red beans and rice that my wife and I ordered were 'sour' as if they had been out most of the day. It was later in the night and we had just arrived at our hotel, so there was no going back to return them. Double check your orders here for your own peace of mind. Popeye’s new location in Castle Rock is modern and clean with a spacious dining area that puts it ahead of its competitors. My wife and I dined in to enjoy our favorite Tuesday Special with lemonade. The staff was gracious and provided us with a paper tray and bag to take leftovers home to enjoy the next day. We lived in Louisiana for quite a bit and we know and love Popeyes! This is store is one of the rare one in Colorado that taste and feel like the ones down south! Bought one of their Cajun Style Thanksgiving Turkeys this year for the first time. We all agreed it was the best Thanksgiving Turkey EVER! Ridiculously good. So much easier, less work, less mess and no way you can make it this good at home unless you have a rotisserie oven at home big enough for a turkey. The seasoning is amazing, NOT spicy at all.
