Absolutely fantastic dining experience. Every dish demonstrated well balanced flavor, texture, acidity, and portions. All ingredients are high quality. Ambience is romantic. Staff are attentive and they care a lot about the dining experience. Even the restroom is well maintained. Nothing concrete I could criticize yet. I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Pomet. The food was incredible (shout out for the mushroom pasta). The dinner rolls were soft and paired well with the mushroom pasta. I had the trout which was delicate and tender. For dessert, I had the chocolate bar which demonstrated masterful artistry. The menu takes farm to table seriously. The menu is thoughtfully inclusive of a variety of fresh produce and proteins from local farmers. That much isn’t lost on me. But, I found the food to be only OK, even a bit underseasoned overall. As somewhat of a homesteader, I can appreciate eating local produce, but I was left underwhelmed with the meal at the price point. We came for a birthday and ordered each entree and the bread, pasta, quail from the starters and each had it’s highlights, but again each fell short of a well rounded dish. As far as the service is concerned, it was mediocre. The staff was eager to take the order, but disappeared after the plates were served. We had to look for people when we needed more water, and not a single person checked to make sure the meal was to our liking. For a restaurant at this price point and caliber, I suppose I expected more. I think it’s worth a try, but perhaps not a regular occurrence. Incredible incredible 🥹🥹 upscale seasonal Californian on piedmont kampachi crudo - spicy tender fish in a bright sauce so delicious ugly mushroom pasta - perfection idek what to say. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had smoked potatoes - soo unique love the sauce with the fish eggs perfectly fork tender. ribeye - perfectly cooked, super savory sauce. TENDER!! Perfect size to split. Charred cabbage was okay desserts were nothing special to me. Donuts with fruit purée and flan with berries loved the dessert WINE!! I’ve never had something that tasted like that before. 2011 d’Yquem Satuternes Graves. It tasted like molten honey butter, so sweet, not acidic at all just incredible a pleasure to sip Service was super friendly and professional Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Mushroom Pasta

We decided to try out Pomet for our date night. The food there is absolutely incredible, but I have to say that the starters were my favorite. If you're looking for recommendations, I highly suggest trying the crunchy duck leg. The outer layer has a texture similar to Korean fried chicken, crispy with gochujiang, while the inner meat is cooked rare and very tender. Another dish that I loved was the ugly mushroom pasta. The pasta is shaped like candy and filled with mushroom. And the soup has a variety of sliced mushrooms that give it an earthy flavor. It's not too heavy or creamy, which is rarer to find. Lastly, the kampachi crudo was amazing. The addition of pineapple tomato gave it the perfect balance of sweet and sour. My wife and I came here to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. Their menu changes, so I can't suggest a specific dish. However, the service was top notch - attentive, but not overbearing. They seemed to be there right at the moment that you needed them. I loved the atmosphere - it felt like you were at a guest at a friend's home. I definitely see myself coming back to try their different dishes. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A really wonderful and delicious spot. Pomet is definitely a contender for best restaurants in Oakland! We were seated outside, and it was a little chilly, so they offered us blankets - a really nice touch. Standout dishes were the ugly mushroom filled pasta, which is one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in recent memory, the roasted carrots, the quail, and the desserts. It was a fantastic meal, and the price point can’t be beat! Pomet does a great job of highlighting seasonal produce. Their dishes are creative and the flavors are exciting and well-balanced. The quail was perfectly seasoned and crunchy, the carrots with sunflower seeds was a great combination of flavors and textures. The pretzel was good but not amazing, but I loved how they highlighted the various citruses with the yellowfin tuna. For the mains, the star was the ugly mushroom pasta. With how good this was, I wish we had ordered their second pasta dish as well! It was a perfect medley of umami and mushroomy, with a bit of sweetness. Truly amazing. The duck was perfectly cooked, the sauce and accompaniments could have been a bit more interesting, but delicious nonetheless. All the desserts we tried were delicious, but the orange creamsicle pie and panna cotta were my favorites. Neither was overly rich but both were so fragrant and brought out so many unique and fun flavors. We’ll definitely be back!!
