Matt the bartender is super cool 😎 and delicious 🤤 plus he suggested the best shots for my friend Randy and I, everyone should go there. In 2021, I was paying $70,000 a year for a library at Carle Illinois College of Medicine I could not use due to COVID precautions, so I started studying at Pias during the day on occasion. While I was not welcome at the U of I, I was welcome at Pias. I share this now as someone no longer attending UIUC. Pias did more for my medical doctorate than Carle/UIUC did during those times. Great people, good food, and good prices can get you through tough times. Also, if they're still doing pitcher punch cards, get started. Recommended dishes Grand Slam

This place is a C-U classic. Been around for a long while. A great dive bar/ sports bar for watching local Illini games or NFL games. Certainly not the cleanest place, but if you want to catch a good slice of Champaign here you go. Great burgers and bar food to keep the edge off the beers. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

A dive bar with pretty good food! Staff is friendly and quick. It's not very clean, but the drinks are cold and you can have dinner and a few drinks for a decent price. 4 stars for cleanliness.

We went late and we're hosting a prior townie from out of Springfield. We had a decent time but, it did feel a lot like a very young crowd and there were a lot of arguments that ended up being taken outside. Not the best look for a bar. Meal type Other Price per person $20–30

The atmosphere is grung sports bar. The service is spotty at best and the food if cooked correctly is pretty darn good. That depends on who's cooking and how busy they are. There's still.work to be done but I'll admit, Pia's maybe turning the corner and becoming that neighborhood bar it once was back in the 80's and 90's. I'll certainly be back.
