Father, reader and barista, Dinn moved to Battambang from Phnom Penh a few years ago because he wanted to start a cafe which would also be a library...and voila Petra Library Cafe was born. Why Petra? "Petra means ship in Khmer. Books and stories can help sail through the storms in life," he says. The pandemic forced him to scale down his cafe and for some time he could not add to his book collection. The economic slowdown persists but he is hopeful. He should be...he is a reader, after all! A hidden gem inside of a small road in Battambang city. This place has all the great combination. Books, coffee, soft drink, graffiti, and friendly staffs. Amazing. Not to mention that they have "The Disaster Artist" book, a very pleasant surprise there. The coffee taste good. The vibe of the place bring a very relaxing feeling. Overall experience: I am coming back for sure whenever I come here again.

I was very surprised to see a place like that out of touristic spots. The library mostly consists of books in Khmer, but there are some books in English as well, some are for sell. Cafe offers drinks and sandwiches. Very relaxing ambience with soft piano music downstairs and completely silent upstairs for those who don't want to be described while reading. Totally support such initiative for locals and very happy that there are people who understand the importance of reading, not only scrolling Facebook.

Very nice, strong coffee, not bitter at all🤩 and a great selection of books upstairs - the biggest selection of English books I’ve found so far whilst travelling SE Asia.
