Good location, easy to park, friendly staff. Lots of choices,lots of awards. The pie is quite big for one person. We tried steak pie, creamy mushroom,bacon,n cheese pie. My husband's and kIds like those. But it's too salty for me. And the crust is not as I expected. However, must try if you are visiting Rotorua, since those are the award winning pies.

Unfortunatelly the Duck pie and the Steak & Cheese pie were too salty. Duck pie meat was SUPER salty. Steak meat was not salty at all but the gravy was just too salty. Though was good amount of steak meat in a pie. Pastry not tasty and felt like it was uncooked. I was really surprised the Duck pie got any award at all. It would be the last one on my list compared to many bakeries aroun NZ. How are these awards decided or handed out is a mystery. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Don’t be fooled by those awards hanging on the wall…Taste like pre-made pies from the supermarket, extremely disappointing. The crust is thick and doughy…The only redemption is their cream filled donut which is really good.

A fabulous place, pies and puddings to die for! We loved watching the master bakers carefully making the delicious puff pastry and desserts. Friendly staff - we 100% recommend this lovely establishment, we sat outside and absolutely loved our creamy chicken and tarragon pies but the cheesecake tart was the most delicious dessert i have ever tasted 😋 : This place was to us like a water fountain in the desert, it doesn't look anything flash from outside, but oh my don't walk past this place without sampling their delights! Had to try the Bakels Supreme Roast Duck, onion and mushroom pie for $8.90. A steady stream of customers are buying Patricks pies but also try his fabulous fresh cream donuts

Pork belly, mushroom and cheese pie was one of the best pies ive had. Full stop. Excellent quality fillings and pastry. Sweet lamb curry was also fantastic. Even if you didn't like pies they have plenty of other options, the chips were banging as well. Fully recommend this place, I won't stop going on about how NZ pies are better than the UK after these.

After Heaven’s Bakery closed in Napier, the search seemed never-ending for the long cream filled donut with a spot of raspberry jam on top. Finally being able to find it at Patrick’s gave me such a thrill like an emended weight lifted off my shoulders. Their pies are definitely worth all the accolades and hype. The bakers here really work had to provide consistent quality and deliver typical baked New Zealand goods. Well done.

I had a couple of pies... it's just not the same as Tauranga shops. The chef may need to check their test buds... they were too oo salty. Three or four of us in the van agreed to that. Disappointed. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

I can see why these Pies are the best around, all the awards that this bakery have won speaks volumes of the passion that goes into baking every delicious pie. The amount of people that streamed in out and out of this establishment shows how much the public appreciates a good Pie. They cater to everybodies tastes, and they offer a wider range of hot meals and some real tasty looking deserts also. Will gladly recommend Patricks Pies to everybody.

Super disappointed. I’m a big fan of NZ pies having grown up here. Was looking forward to the roast duck pie my entire vacation heading to Rotorua, but the pie is super underwhelming. Gravy too thick, not enough flavor, pastry is not crispy and very thick. The center wasn’t even hot when we ate it right at the bakery. The worst part is that we asked the cashier lady if they had any more roast duck pies since they were sold out when we first lined up. She told us they were out, so we ordered two other underwhelming pies (seafood and roast pork). About 5 mins into eating our pies in the joint they brought out a few more duck pies.
