Incredible flavoursome pies. Huge selection of good quality pies here. First time being here and will definitely come back at somestage. I highly recommend if you want a fantastic tasty fulfilled hot pie here. It's more pricey than other places however it's definitely worth the money.

Great pies begins with a great flaky crust with airy dough followed with mouth watering fillings with full on flavors! I had the mussel pie which is not for all but if you love it you love it. My family had steak or mince, they were all excellent. Plenty of parking on the street and seating inside. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

We initially came by to quickly grab some stuff to eat and then head off back to Auckland. We ended up grabbing the food and drinks and eating at the table there. They have a nice range of bakery items like pies, sandwiches and cold treats like custard slice. I grabbed the pork belly pie and it had a nice amount of meat and tasted quite nice. Outstanding pies. Tasted: Pepper steak in creamy sauce. Pastry: Buttery, slightly flaky, soft yet crisp. Perfect pastry to filling ratio. Filling: Generous, not over the top overflowing (which in some instances make it near impossible to eat a pie properly). Was hoping to try another one, but was too filling. Another place where we liked it so much, we came back for round 2 while on vacation! They just offer a really simple thing, we put delicious filling into our flaky golden yellow pies. They also have sandwiches, fries, and other things but you come here for those pies! It’s a cafeteria style service where you get a tray and just slide down from each heated display window to the next. You can pick out the delicious goodies that you want to eat and then pay at the end. We absolutely adored their flaky crispy pies that had all sorts of different fillings. A lot of classic combinations such as chicken and mushroom, steak & kidney, smoked fish, sweet lamb curry, and butter chicken. It’s hard to have just one. I think my favourite thing I discovered there was their double happy roll. What makes it double happy? It was filled with ground beef on one side and creamy mashed potatoes in the other. Yum yum! There’s nothing fancy about the food but it’s just great great comfort food at a great value. It’s bound to make you smile.

Your food rocks, and so do your staff. One week after leaving a jacket behind, we passed through Taupo again and called in to the bakery on the off chance you had the jacket. Thank-you for your great service!

The food is overpriced and average at best. $7 for a pie is too much when I can I expect better quality in a packet pie like Mrs Macs. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
