Wonderful breakfast/brunch spot! Everyone here loves what they do, and the delicious food is proof. This was my first visit, and I look forward to my next! I had the Shakshouka, and my friend had the Cornmeal Pancake w/Leeks and Poached Eggs. They were both incredibly delicious! Sit at the counter and watch the chefs create everything. It's fun to watch!
I went here a few years ago and it was great. Came back recently and the big change was obviously the price. Based on how much food you get and the price, it is just so much. Just to order a la carte for toast and fruit is just insane.
The food was good. Pastries were great. 2 years ago I would recommend it for the food but now I can’t recommend it based on the cost of everything now.
🚙 Our plan was to drive to Berkeley and find a restaurant to satisfy our sweet cravings with some delightful French toast 🍞 After Parking in the neighborhood, memories of this restaurant from a previous visit flooded back and we decided to secure a spot on the waiting list. We were informed of an approximate 30-minute wait so we took this time to take a leisurely stroll around nearby stores 🏬 🚶 It was raining, and store hopping made it a fun way to spend our time 🌧️ ☔️
The restaurant, though small, exuded charm, with an intimate and inviting ambiance. Seated at the back, we enjoyed front-row views of the busy kitchen, the syrup station, and even the bathroom. We were able to see everything and everyone 😂 I enjoyed being observant.
The French toast was delicious. Despite my love for hot chocolate, the density of their version left me wanting something more sweet.
Thank you for the exceptional service, and a special shout-out to the bilingual Spanish speaking employees who made our overall experience pleasant. Lastly, we enjoyed the background music 🎵 🎶
There were many food options on the menu so we’ll definitely come back to explore more options.

My first time at Oceanview Diner on 4th Street in Berkeley! The brandy apple souffle pancake can take 30 to 40 minutes to prepare, but wow! I wondered why they didn't just call it a Dutch baby, but it definitely is a hybrid of that and Japanese-style souffle pancakes with its soft velvety center. Would be great to share as a final treat with friends after having your regular meal.

My son gushed that the scrambled eggs were the best he ever had!! Honestly everything was delicious. I had a chili dog it was delicious and enormous. My son polished off the my meal after eating everything of his!!

What a great treat! We came for a late Sunday brunch and were totally impressed with everything about this place. The location and outside tables are perfect. The service was so nice and accommodating. And the food was delicious and nicely portioned! My huevos rancheros were excellente!
