It's an end lot kampong house converted to home cooked restaurant, located along the busy road, approximate 15mins drive from jonker street. We tried the signature Nyonya Laksa, comes with taufu pok, bean sprouts and santan blend in so well. Don't forget the Nasi Lemak as the rice is so fragrant and sambal is super delicious. Their curry puff is also crispy and savoury. Price is reasonable for the food. Highly recommended and will come again to try other menu.

Found this lovely authentic nyonya eatery in melaka. No fancy deco's. Just real authentic nyonya food. Owners are very friendly and chatty. Portions are good and taste is just absolutely incredible. Taste just like my grandma's cooking. It's been a long since I've tasted such flavours. Brings me back in time when grandma was still alive when I was a young boy. That's easily 50years ago. Prices were fairly reasonable. I will come back again to try out more dishes. Well worth the travel time. Highly recommended to those who want to reminiscent back those good old days. Recommended, must try the kuih kosui (kaswi). The texture and sweetness is made with perfection!!

Mee Siam
Family operated cafe/restaurant served local Nyonya delights. Don’t expect fancy environment nor food here, it’s really local homestyle cooked food. It’s good enough to fill up your stomach.

Cendol Gula Melaka
First time here...overall for me it is below average in terms of taste. Environment okay, service okay.
Curry Laksa - considered bland taste.
Nasi Lemak w Rendang Ayam - rendang ayam not really the rendang. It wld be not the rendang i wld order again.
Cendol - not good for Melaka Nyonya Cendol. Suggest they go taste others. Even the roadside stall in Lukut sold by Auntie is much better than this.
Would we come back again... NO as it is overated 4.3 overall 🌟.
It is based on our personal taste.

In summary, not worth the hype, food hunter may want to look elsewhere.
It’s crowded during weekend with lots of food being sold out around 11am. Located at road side meaning parking is scarce.
Food: Nasi Lemak and the Nyonya Laksa doesn’t has much coconut aroma. The renewing chicken is salty. Candol is acceptable but not outstanding.
Coffee is good.
Environment: old school wooden house with limited seat but luckily it’s clean and hygiene.
Price is acceptable.

Hyped by Trevor James like the other gentleman mentioned. I guess if you’re in the area, it isn’t bad to get a bowl of curry laksa and cendol but to make a trip there. Nah. Food wise , it’s good. Chicken rendang was soft and tasty. Curry laksa even in big size wasn’t very full. Lontong not my thing with the rice on the mushy side. The star of the show is the cendol!! Delicious
Although this place has the poster/signage of Trevor James of Food Ranger fame, we find this place just average. Guess it was hyped up after Food Ranger's visit. Trevor James is looking for "off-the-beaten-track" kind of food. For that, it's correct, as it is a good neighborhood eateries with varieties of breakfast/lunch choices.
However, do one really need to travel out of town to the suburbs to eat daily breakfast/lunch average food? My answers to foodies who have not tried it, no need to spend the time and effort.
But, if you are in the vicinity i.e after visiting the "Melaka Kapal Selam" (Malacca Maritime Museum), then yes, it's a nice rustic place to have all the available nyonya food in a residential village house settings.
They serve Lontong, Nyonya Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Mee Siam, Chendol, etc.
As for chendol, we have to highlight that it does not seems to be the Melaka type of chendol. Instead its more like the Indian mamak type that is available in other locations in Malaysia. Unless, something was wrong on the day we were there, we did not taste the distinct gula melaka in the malacca chendol.
Verdict:
1) Is it a bad place to eat? No it is not, as they have a wide variety of nyonya food choices.
2) Will I make an effort to go and try? I will not unless I am in the vicinity.
3) Price wise? Reasonably borderline as the food is just average.
4) Environment? Good place to experience a residential setting eating place...really eating in a village house.
Average food in a rustic, homely setting. Service was friendly and they were very accommodating to us forgetting to pay (sorry!). The lontong and laksa had fragrant coconut milk, but was otherwise lacking in flavor complexity. The kway teow and chicken were.. cold and unappetizing. Ok as an experiential food choice.
