Stopped at Kyoda Rest Stop for lunch at this place. Very nice lady in it. When she knew we don't understand Japanese, she pull out a English menu with pictures and told us to sit down to choose our meals. When placing order, there's no need for us to use the Coupon machine to place orders. We just point to her what we wanted and she said ok. Ordered a large butter grilled fish for 2500 JPY and a duck soup for 1250 JPY. The fish is very fresh and full of butter and garlic flavour. However, we don't like the duck soup as it has a very gamey taste and smell in it. Note that this is a cash only restaurant. A homely family restaurant. Decent food and prices. Portion of food is really a lot! Nice home cook food meal served with local produce such as the bitter gourd.

We arrived for a late lunch at 3pm plus and so there wasn't any lunch crowd. Many tables were available and the only customers we saw were locals (does that say something?), whilst tourists were busy swarming the main Kyoda rest area. Do take the effort to walk a little, there are many other restaurants and coffee shops away from the main area. We ordered Okinawan soba and it was a great choice, it was homestyled with hot and piping soup and delicious flavour bursting pork belly, great for our ravenous appetites. Bonus, the menu is also in English and the service is very friendly. Will highly recommend the place.
