Absolutely fantastic meal. No menu, just the delightful owner asking about our food preferences and preparing an amazing 3 course meal for us. Highlights included the parmigiana on the side of the tagliata and the stunning vitello tonnato on the antipasti plate… not to be missed!

A very quaint and homely restaurant up on the hill. The owner and her team are very warm and welcoming. It feels like coming home for home cooked food. The food is fresh and tasty. Their truffles is rich. The cake and bakery is so good and apparently award-winning. The ambience is lovely and we had lunch under a chestnut tree.
Very nice and cozy location off the beaten track. Extremely friendly hosts making you feel more than just welcome. There is no menu as such. It’s basically fish or meat - and based on that decision you will get a ver nicely composed 3 course menu. We went for the fish option and were absolutely happy with it. The house wine is a simple but tasty one and went well with the menu. Altogether definitely worth a visit and we will be back for sure.
I wish I could tell it was a good experience overall, but totally the opposite as we felt a bit scammed. Our intention was to have only a main dish each of us (2 people) but we ended up eating starter, main dish, dessert and a bottle of wine. My girlfriend wanted to have some meat and myself seafood, apparently that wasnt possible as the Chef was alone and she could only cook one type of dish -something which in a proper restaurant should not happen- after we agreed on pasta with Shrimps (Skampi) like everyone else in the restaurant -again something that makes you think something weird is happening- and the waiter came with a cold plate which was a starter with shrimps and some ham. We did not even order that. After that he came with a 1 L bottle of wine when we asked for a bit of wine, not the entire bottle, and finally came the star dish -pasta with Skampi- which was shared by 2 people -not to mention that the portion was very small for a couple-. As a dessert they had just one option which was a kind of fried homemade pasta which was OK, but nothing special. But the final suprise came at the end with the bill. 83 Euros!! for a bit of salad with cold cuts and shrimps, pasta with 5 or 6 Skampi, a bottle of house wine and some fried dessert. Price-Quality not worthy at all. We had very high expectations and we left the place being very very disappointed.

In our experience, we got scammed. We payed €140 for diner for two persons. And this in slovenia. Its really absurd.
They let you think it is a very cozy and pittoresque place. That’s why we did not asked for the price. (Lesson learned…)
They tell you the wine is from the neighbour but it tastes like water. The food was okay, but certainly not worth the €140 we needed to pay. (€54 for a fish 🤡)
Also, there were no locals eating here. I think that says enough. After all we went away with a very bad feeling. That’s why they don’t deserve any stars, except for the food which was not bad.
At the end they tell you that it’s “the best fish” and “normal prices for the area” but this is really not true.
I hope they read this review and respond to this. I am curious what these people have to say.

We reserved a table one day in advance and ordered fish. On the evening of our visit we were asked if we would also like a starter. We agreed and got a big plate full of spaghetti with shrimps. The food was good but the plate as big as the main dish so we asked if it would be ok just to eat the starter and no main dish additionally. The host agreed and told us everything was ok and that it would be no problem not taking the main dish additionally becauase they haven't cooked it yet. The food was good and so everything was ok until we got the bill on which for the starter they charged us 40 Euro! For Spagehtti with shrimps. It would have been fine if they told us that no matter what we have to take the main dish because we ordered it in advance. But to say that it's no problem not taking it and afterwards charching 40 Euro for the starter is absolutely insolent! Never again.
