The cuisine was very tasty and local. I had the pleasure of going there twice because we really liked the warm atmosphere, the welcome and the food. Very nice people.

Kids run around freely, people live their daily lives on the streets, and it's not like the beachfront restaurants. Almost every day, I go to this cafe/restaurant for brunch. The service is great, the people are friendly, and the decor is authentic. Good food at a good price. Asante sana!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mwisha Restaurant in Jambiani, Zanzibar and was thoroughly impressed by the experience again. The atmosphere was friendly and the decoration was nice, making for a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Cecilia and her husband, as well as the staff, were incredibly hospitable and made sure that all of our needs were met. While we waited for our food, we were able to play a few games, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. The waiter, Moudih, was particularly funny and friendly and made for great conversation.
The food at Mwisha Restaurant was top-notch. Everything was cooked fresh and the quality was outstanding. The prices were also fair, making it a great value for the experience. They offer a variety of options including breakfast, a la carte starters, mishkaki, salads, burgers, curry and even a small kids menu and desserts. I would highly recommend trying the Chicken Burger and the fresh-made banana, pineapple, papaya, passionfruit or mango juice, which were all delicious.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mwisha Restaurant for anyone looking for a taste of authentic Swahili cuisine in a friendly and welcoming environment. The food, atmosphere and hospitality were all exceptional and I will definitely be returning anytime i am in Zanzibar.

We visited this restaurant twice and both times the food was delicious. First time we came here, the restaurant was already closed but they didn’t mind cooking a meal for us that late. Wonderful people and very tasty food!!
Very good starter: potato ball. Grilled fish with chips on grilled vegetables and side salad really good. This is a must-return place but be prepared for pole pole waiting.

Very good food, each time (almost daily) I visited this restaurant. The food was very tasty with good quality. Also she could make the food spicy as I like. The hospitality is like a second home. Asante sana sana.
We went there on three nights, best food we had in Zanzibar!! Don’t miss the Zanzibar Coconut Chutney with Octopus, it’ll change your life. Asante sana to the lovely crew! ❤️
